they rate the top 10 place to live and wheel in the us..im just gonna give the states..here is the list:
10.penn
9:tenn
8.oklahoma
7.cali
6.utah
5.south dakota
4.colorodo
3.new mexico
2.nevada

and last but not least
1.ARIZONA!!!

looks like i have a top 10 places to live list now... :D someone explain to me #'s 10, 9 and 8...

I dont know about #10 or #8 but I do know about tennessee. There is jellico tenn. where they hold uroc events. There is also tellico which is technically in murphy north carolina...but i believe its partly in tennessee too. Tellico is way up there on the extreme list. Its basically the moab of the east but unlike moab tellico has "slickrock" aptly named because in some places water flows down the rocks.

Must be a good part tennessee because when I was in Chattanooga, there was not really any good places to wheel IMHO

Some one explain new Mexico to me? I have never heard of any where near me to go wheeling...Of course im in the lower right corner.

I wonder what criteria was used to come up with that list?

I know Cali has some spots because that's where I'm originally from before I joined up, but I still say tennessee is lame and I still have my same truck WOOOOOOHHH!!!!!

ummmmmmm Las Cruses and Farmington mabye

im from grants nm a small town and there is some prime places to go wheeling out here...

I woulda put Missouri on that list cause there are many popular "wheeling destinations" surrounding us, and a couple of new parks opening up. To the north you got Iowa with it's awsome rock quarrys, West of us is Kansas with Kansas rocks and a few other spots, Oklahoma with DIsney, Arkansas with Superlift's offroad park, Tennasee, Illinois with rockport, and I can think of at least 5 spots accross Missouri itself.

They are listing cites not states, and the places has to only two hours away.

You guys keep naming places so I know where to move in a couple years.

They picked Nashville, which has many spots within 5 hours drive time. I think that was the criteria. There aren't very many public wheeling spots in the south. Nashville is the only majorish city in a central location to most of them.

Philly has Rausch creek and Paragon when it reopens. Julian is right though the magazine article listed cities, not states. It was based on how close to wheeling it was, average cost of income and housing expenses, how many 4 wheeling specific shops there are in the area.

Wheeling in the country is in Tenn. huge offroad park:D

I live in Carlsbad, NM and we have some pretty good trails around here, anything from weekend trail ride to fully gettin' it. If you want to come out wheelin sometime let me know. We have a good club down here and some good rigs.

Cali should be much higher on that list. Weve got the rubicon, fordyce, pismo, dumont dunes, glamis dunes, the hammers, hollister hills and a million other trails + the best weather and hottest bitches. :D
