Heavy's HK5

So, Michael, you have the 40k BTU model of the Summit heaters, right? I would like to know how hard it blows on its high setting from your prospective. Just mapping out what do do when I get one because I plan on using only two of the three available speeds.... I think.

Chris - lets just say when the truck is warmed up to operating temp, I have never had it off of the low setting! I generally open my wing window to get a mix of cooler air, its so hot. And that is in TN winters getting below 30 degrees pretty regularly.

Yup, 40k

Some random pictures from over the last few years....

Hi Lift mount idea I borrowed from a member on here a few years ago.

Grizzly lock outs on 35 spline chromoly outters

Why I went 35 spline chromoly outters and Grizzly lock outs....

RV Morse TBI next to old stock TBI

Tailgate build

Start of new rear swing out tail gate. Home brew rear bumper.

Used some scrap diamond plate to sheath the inside. I have plans to acquire non-diamond plate and make some tweaks in the near future.

Getting supplies for the work fridge when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg.

More progress

Don't mind the welds....I was still learning at this point....sh*t, Im always learning!

Senseless poser shot...

Some old wheeling pics to show I do play also....

Here are some from when I went down to FL meeting up with some Florida K5ers back in 2011

Rest assured I DO NOT let my kid ride like this...we were stopped so he could take some footage.

More wheeling pics....

This was a fun moment

Recovery detail...

K5s hanging at the Carolina beach

At one point, I thought she could swim

I thought this was a pretty neat picture

Wheeling at Uwharrie National Park, NC (Wheeling for Wounded Warriors/WWP)

While I was living in NC, the offroad club I was running with did a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project called Wheeling for Wounded Warriors. We generated a little over $5000 in two weeks from local businesses and we put their stickers on our rigs for advertisement. I was one of the best wheeling weekends Ive had. We had some wounded vets from the transition center ride shotgun in few vehicles for the weekend.

Pre-hydro assist!

What a view

Kid looking so ecstatic..

This is when I busted my outter axle shaft...and went 35 chromoly and Grizzly lock outs

Pre season trail maintenance @ Uwharrie N.P. 2012

I enjoyed the opportunity to do trail maintenance before the trails were open. Great time learning how the Parks and Recreation folks do to keep the trails open.

This is obviously before I got to finish my rear swing out tail gate. :D

Hauling out of bounds rails up the trail.

Uwharrie camp site pics during another trail maintenance day/weekend.

Senseless poser shot from south GA K5'n. Looks more like fine art to me having examined both pieces closely. You can definitely feel the "madness" oozing from each one. [emoji1]

I really like this truck. Nice pics man.

Thanks!

Cool. I dig the gate. The single spindle/bearing setup holds up the weight alright?

Thanks!

Heavy Duty 1 3/4" spindle kit from Comp4x4, spindle welded all the way through gate base. This thing is beefy....and its held up for over 2 years now and multiple wheeling trips. So far so good....:thumb:
