help, clutch lever has too much play. ?!?!?

Dorman sells shims for flywheels on some engines, not sure if they have them for yours though...they are used to put the flywheel back where it should be after its been turned..to avoid pedal height and clutch release issues..

I've not used them myself,I would have fears the bolts wouldn't be long enough for full thread engaugement with the shims added, but maybe they do have enough spare threads to get away with it..

I finally got everything back in and running. From my research talking to various shops the problem basically resulted from the combination of having a turned down flywheel and a brand new clutch. Maybe a standard bell housing wouldn't have had this problem, but the AA did.

For what it's worth my flywheel was only about .1" thinner than stock.

Anyway I came to the same solution as bp71k5, I extended the pivot ball. I started out with about 3/8" clearance on the bell housing opening and ended up with about 7/8". I don't know if I needed that much, but it certainly is enough. Good to be back on the road. :woot:
