hey everybody, im workin on my hubs this weekend, FINALLY. first off, i wanna apologize to everyone who told me i was gonna need the four prong tool and i said it didnt fit. turns out im just retarded and didnt completely remove the freewheel outter assembly and never actually got to the lock nut. so it is actually the four pin lock nut like everyone said.

heres the problem, i got everything apart, and have all the peices layed out how i took them out, but its not making alot of sense, heres the order they were in from outside to inside....

freewheel assembly (including knob, gear, spring, o-ring, lock screw, and outter casing)
lock nut
spacer
lock nut
outter bearing
rotor
inner bearing
seal

now im putting it back together, and ive got the new bearings greased, and the bearings and rotor are on the spindle, and ive screwed the first lock ring back on, but it dosnt look like there is enough thread on the spindle for a spacer and another lock ring.

is one of the lock rings supposed to go inside the rotor, on the inner bearing before the outter bearing is installed???

ive got the hayens manual, and ill be looking through that, but ive never been too impressed with the information those things provide.

thanks in advance.

soooooo yeah, the driver side hub and all came apart and went back together prety much without a hitch. the passenger side though........ the six retaining bolts for the locking assembly, decided they didnt want to move. well, not true, after bending one of my torx bits it popped out. i even hit them with WD40, let it sit, and then tapped everything with a hammer a few times to try and loosen things up, its always worked for me in the past to break bolts loose. but even still, i wound up snapping the torx bolt off inside one of the bolts, tried drilling the heads off the bolts, and waisted three drill bits, snapped a smaller bit, tried using an "easy out" to get at them, and that snapped off inside like the torx bit. so at this point, four of the six are either out, or drilled out or drilled into the hub. but those last two are defying all my drilling attempts (and im using snap-on cobalt bits), easy out attempts, and everything, ive got one side done, but one side still untouched, and of course its the weekend so the parts department is closed, and i have no backup car to get to work on monday...... why is it all the easy projects always screw you in the end????

ah welll, screw it, guess its time for a new set of lock hubs, might as well upgrade from whats on there to some warn hubs. now all i gotta do is figure out how to get that one off, dosnt matter if i break it at this point..... maybe drill in from the side???? sawzall????? wish me luck.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA i love my angle grinder :) 5 stratigically placed cuts with a cutting wheel, and it came right off :D

So how did you get the rest of the bolts out of the hub assembly?

lol i didnt. the 5 cuts were cut into the side of the locking hub outter part, slicing in through the housing and through the bolts so i could get the outter part off. then i removed the inner part, and i ordered a new set of warn stainless steel replacement locking hubs, should be here wednsday.
