hey y'all. I am a newbie to custom suspensions and axle swaps and so i just picked up a 14 bolt sf 9.5" 6 lug axle from a guy off CL and have been workin for the past week to get it swapped in along with some 63" leaf springs from the local salvage yard. i just finished the swap along with a custom drop bracket shackle flip spring under axle suspension into my 1981 chevy k5 blazer in place of the stock 12 bolt. im almost positive it is the same gearing however, after installing the axle and hooking everything up except the e-brakes, and when i shift it into drive,1 or 2 gear, it reverses and when i shift into reverse, it drives forward...any ideas how this happened and how to fix it?? it didnt do this before the axle swap.:dunno:thanks! its an 81 k5 with a new crate 350 motor, auto trans, np205 Tcase and stock 12b rear(swapped out), stock 10b front. completely gutted with tacked in cage.

spring under axle suspension

Originally it would have been axle under the springs. In order to do the above, you'd have to cut off the perches and re-weld them on the bottom.

Or flip it over and then it would indeed go backwards.

This another one of those April Fools' Day posts about carbs with check engine lights and low wiper fluid warnings?

I had a CCC setup and it in deed had a CIL. :doah:

I'm sorry, we all make mistakes, and I'm not falling out of my chair laughing AT you, just laughing with you, reminded of some of the dumb things I've done. :thumb: And I agree, you HAVE TO post a picture before you fix it. I think it's in the forum rules when you signed up. :deal::haha:
