1/2 ton status
So I'm gonna dive head first into building my first motor from a bare block. First off this is the parts list I'm looking at. Feel free to add comments and insight. This motor will be strictly offroad only and would like to balance reliability with cost.
I haven't checked out many different places yet so this list is based totally off Summit's website.
Eagle Rotating Assembly: 999.95

5140 steel connecting rods
FM244 aluminum alloy hypereutectic pictons
perfect circle piston rings
Clevite 77 bearings

Crank: have a 2 piece main that will need to be grinded to fix scored bearing journals
have a 1 piece main in an unknown condition--know by 5/17
Eagle cast 2 piece main external balanced: 275.95
Eagle 4340 forged internal balanced 795.95
Main caps: have both old sets off eaither motor
new Eagle main caps 89.95
Connecting rods: Have both old sets from each motor
new: Eagle H beam: 459.95
Bearings:Speed Pro Main:52.95
Rod: 54.95
Clevite H series: main 63.95
rod: 63.60
Pistons: Keith Black flat top: 359.95
Dome: 399.95
speed pro dome: 415.60
Rings: speed pro 115.95
Oil Pump: have old
new Sealed Power high volume 38.95
Oil Cooler:B&M supercooler 119.95

Valve Covers: Have but would like new
Heads: have 049 heads that I would get work done to get better flow. I don't know pricing
on this but I's say in the neighborhood of 1000
Cam: No idea on what to get here I figured I would talk to comp and find out what they
recomend. roughly I'd say 180
Lifters: Have the old ones.
New: comp cam hydraulic roller lifters: 459.95
Valve springs: have the old ones
New: No idea what I want here but comps dual springs are in the range of 300
Reatainers: Compcams steel 54.95
Push rods: comp cams push rods 229.95
Rockers: comp cams steel 159.95
Valves: dont' know the numbers here
Mideon intake 87.95
exhaust 99.95
Timing gears and chain: Comp cams 107.99
Timing cover: have
new compcams: 140.69
Gaskets: 274
Bolts: ARP kit 100
Thermostat housing: have old
new 100
water pump: have the old
New: Mideon high volume 109.95
