Here comes my bumper!

I'm on it... Need to get a couple bolts today to put through the vertical rollers. Then I can notch the piece under the fairlead. If you are talking about side clearance, might look deeper because the rollers are missing. Stay tuned for the next set of pics, then let me know what you think.
I'm not really sure how sharp of an angle I can pull the cable safely at anyway... ???

I say that because I have had to winch with the cable at a 90-deg angle to the truck to pull it sideways:)

Bumper looks good though.

I will not be able to pull at 90-degrees. close, but not 90. Isn't the cable separating and flattening out when you pull like that? What size/type cable do you have? Or was it just one of those, "what the hell" moments?

And heres what the cable angle is going to be like when it starts to rub on the bumper...

???

I think you are good to go there man...nice work too.

Im interested to see how that winch is actually mounted, got any pics of that?

It so happens I started my bumper build today, and Ive come to a stop until i figure out a way to mount my winch in the frame rails.

Im doing a low profile bumper too, just cant seem to find a happy place for Mr. winch to sit where the gear engage will be accessible.

It might be slim profile, but it aint light weight!
Just stuck it on the scale. With both shackles and the fairlead (but no winch) - 100lbs exactly.

I was wondering why my back is sore...

I have a few pics of what it started out as. I'll see if I can find them. I'll also get a few better pics once it's painted and the winch goes in.

My winch is actually upside down, and I will have to reach under the bumper on the passenger side to get to the freespool lever. I played around with it in various configurations and I don't think it will be too bad. Not as nice as having the winch exposed and the lever up on top, but I didn't want my winch hanging out there.

it is threads like this that remind me how frail and underdeveloped my fabrication skills are, seriously bad ass work. even unpainted that thing looks like a factory piece.... but better.
