Hey Artzner! Check out this rig!

I always though it was patina. But then I am planning on restoring it to mostly original condition. Although I am sure that Craig will pick apart everything that isn't correct.

dash looks like the book ones don't it? :dunno:
Not really. If you look at that dash up close, that gauge bezel will have woodgrain on the top 2/3 and be a different casting altogether. The dash plate, although similar, will have the dark walnut woodgrain, not the lighter "teakwood" style that was used in '77. That picture is so small it's hard to tell. Chevy/GMC used 3 different styles of woodgrain from '73-'77. For '73-'74 they used a dark walnut, for '75-'76 they used a burlwood, and for '77 only they used a lighter teakwood. They got rid of woodgrain in '78 and it didn't show back up in the trucks until some time in the '80s. :D

Craig you need to write a book on our trucks. :deal: I would spends $20.00 for it. :saweet:

You could take the info from the brochures and then pin point the differences of the years and some pictures to show the changes in the years. Of course your truck would have to be one of the three on the cover.

Here's some examples I have of the three woodgrains offered. First picture shows the dark walnut used from '73-'74 (which I have in my Blazer):

Next we have the dark burlwood used from '75-'76:

And here's the best picture I have of the '77-only light teakwood:

Some one paid $15,000.00 the auction ended early with Buy It Now!

So I wonder what you would get for yours Craig?

and the mirrors wouldnt it have the mirrors like craig's blazer or the tripod towing mirrors?
then its been said already but they didnt use the hood ordiment till the 80's or spmething like that.

Yeah every once in awhile a bidder shows up with money burning a hole in his pocket and just makes his move. I saw a dark green '74 Blazer in Virginia on eBay with surface rust, paint scratchs and peels, torn seats, pretty much a 7 out 10 condition go all at once for the ridiculous "Buy it Now" of $12,000 dollars. The auction was almost over and the bidding hadn't even reached 2K.:doah:

But don't get me wrong that GMC looks like a really nice Blazer but it's far from original when you get down to the nitty gritty.

Yep, those flatter, dog dish hubcaps didn't show up on Chevy/GMC trucks & K5s until 1976. To be original the truck should be running caps like mine but the GMC version.

As far as selling mine, I don't ever plan to. I looked too long to find my Blazer and it's my dream truck.:D

Hmm, I just learned something new... I'm going to have a hard time finding a bezel with the right woodgrain on it for my '77.

The add says its in New York... But that sure is the Arizona desert in the back ground!

Yeah, the guy (circajerk!) with this new listing has used some of the pictures from the original eBay listing last year. Lazy bastid.

No reserve?

Still hate the mirrors that are on that truck...
