HI-pinion Dana 60 update

The mode fork is not the same. I am in the middle of replacing worn out parts in my 241 and was sent the wrong for k initially. I think the range fork would have to be different too looking at the design. They are mirror images of eachother with a few other little variations on the shaft.

Yah...and I think they're unit-bearing too. But 35 spline thru and beefy. You seen the steering, etc on the new dutys? Beefy....
 
its got a Ford emblem on the grille, and newer than '98, not interested. never have even bothered to to give them a second look .
 
They prolly won't ever be as good as they used to be...but the Fords and Dodges have recently gotten better (beefier) with their straight axles. They were really crap for a while. Small shafts, vacuum actuated hubs, etc. etc. At least the have straight axles....ahem...
 
that AAM front that dodge uses aint too bad. unit bearing blah, but the shafts are huge, spanners for the carrier, nice high tierod.
 
Yah...I was tempted to get a Power Wagon, but decided against the debt. Maybe when they get a little older and used ones are more common and affordable.
 
Funny, I was just looking back at my old posts and reviewing members' replies and saw this:

Realized I posted that on 11-15-2006.... Looks like I'm right on time and plans have changed. Already have the 203 rangebox and bought a 31-spline Ford 205 last week for $57.48 at Pick-n-Pull on half off day. :woot:

Now I gotta go search for the holy grail. :doah::D

I missed this post. That's the setup I'm going for. :D

I have other priorities that need tending to, such as full convert top swap, etc.

I just got a '96 Toyota Camry (for free from Dad) so the K5 is no longer a DD and I have a roommate now so it has a place to rest. I'll be able to get more done on it than I could when it was a DD...
