I have 4 4x6s in my 90 that are H4s. I'm unsure where they came from though. Ill try and figure it out. I run 55w 6000's. My lows are dual filament so they go into "high" when I turn my highs on. As well as my inner lights.

How low are they? still blinding? Id like my lows to be sensible for the other drivers on the road. What all wiring modifications did you use? Im looking into ddm's raptor kit (buddy has it and loves it) using lmc's housing on a quad style setup and more than likely an lmc wiring relay kit.
ive used the 35dollar ones multiple times.
No failures to date.
Basically the cheapo ones work great.

Go with the Raptor's. You won't be sorry.

THAT's what mine are called!Ive bought several sets off eBay. Xentec is the brand and I can't say enough good about them. I would recommend them to anyone.
I just wanted to add that anyone putting HID lights in halogen lamp housings and driving on the street is a jerk. Plus they are delusional in thinking they can see better since the foreground is so bright. Unfortunately, the long distance light is worse. All this conversion does is glare other drivers.
You must use HID housings. Not available for your vehicle? Sorry, do the fabrication or stick with halogen. There's a lot of light to gain with heavy wiring, relays and clean lenses/reflectors.
Mine were in projector housings... Am I a jerk?
Srsly.... Wtf is a halogen housing?
No, that's a nice lighting upgrade.Mine were in projector housings... Am I a jerk?
Well, I am using the Cheap $30 Ebay HID kit. Xentec brand?I'M NOT RUNNING HID LIGHTS FOR DRIVING
Ok, got that out of the way.
Looking to swap out my sealed high beams for composite H4 conversions. After that, I'm going to run an H4 HID setup.
I'm only looking to run these offroad. I'm not ready for extra lights (like Hella's etc, which would be way better I know) but I'm just looking to take advantage of the lower lenses and put some HIDs in them.
Does anyone have any experience with any particular HID conversion? Better still, any particular EBay seller and brand? There are HID conversions on EBay ranging from $35 to $1000. (I can't believe I can get everything for $35, WTH?) I'd rather not spend all my money on this, so somewhere between $100-$200 is plenty.
I'm also considering some Hella E-code composite housings for the same location. I don't need them focused and might find it better without any kind of projectors (for offroading and having a wide spread) That being said, would the cost and better focus of an E-code be superior to the cheaper composite style with upper horizon lighting?

What did you use to space the bulb back with? The lightsource on an hid bulb is quite a bit further out than it's halogen counterpart. This puts the source point in the wrong area so all the reflectors are off focus.
I fixed this before by spacing the bulb back about a half inch. You can play with the distance and find out were the ideal bulb placement is. "Hid housing's" have this already so there is not an issue.
