Hi all,
So after changing out both the incredibly gummed up accelerator and TV cables on my 84 blazer, there's now a loud hiss coming from the carb I didn't notice before. It's also idling higher than before the cable change.
So, The hissing comes from a hole at the rear end of the top of the carb. I disconnected its hose, and the hissing stops, and the hose sucks pretty hard. No obstructions that I could find in either the hose or the hole where it connects. Now, I don't know if it's normal or maybe I bought the wrong TV cable or didn't adjust it correctly, or what? The blazer does seem to idle higher now as well, but I'm again not sure if this isn't normal vs if it idling too low before the cable changes.
The existing cable, and the longer ~44" cable available at the store both seemed too long. So I went back, bought the ~36" cable and it seems like the right length from the throttle to the connecting hole on the tranny, not really any "extra" cable to stow away.
Also, in the process of taking out the air cleaner, I brushed against these other two hoses, though I'm not actually sure they were connected to anything. I've no idea where the first would go, as I can't find anything open to connect it to. The second, I think, may have something to do with cruise control, but it might be vestigial in this particular blazer's condition. I was told it had a new tranny when I bought it, but I'm not sure which one.
I would very very grateful if anyone could give advice on the hissing/sucking from the carb/hose, as well as what the other two hoses purposes could be, and where they're supposed to connect.

Thanks again for any help!
(Please pardon my poor auto vocabulary. This is all very new to me.)

I might have bumped some cables removing the air cleaner, but I know I didn't rearrange anything like that.
