"HOJ" -- The Rebuild (72 GMC Jimmy)

DIY phase is over for me. I've taken the truck to a local resto shop to work on since I'm going to be out of the country for a while. Already looking forward to coming home to a finished build - though sad that I can't do more myself.

safe travels

let me know if you need some spy shots at this "local shop" :waytogo:

Thanks! On another topic - anybody installed a Boyd Welding custom fuel tank in a Jimmy / Blazer? I've seen it in a lot of the pickups, but not the Blazers/Jimmys

I have heard good things, and plan on buying one. If you happen to get one, please let me know what you think of it.

Will do. I've got a 1" body lift on it so hopefully I can mount the tank slightly higher than the lower frame rail. I'm trying o figure out if I can drop an Aeromotive Phantom system into the hole that's already cut in the tank. The EFI version of the tank has an Aeromotive Stealth 340 pump installed, but it doesn't utilize the phantom system. If the hole is the right size, though, dropping the whole phantom system in shouldn't be a problem. Then I'd just plug the return and vent holes already in the tank since they're part of the phantom system. Maybe it's overkill/paranoia to not just take their EFI version and rely on the tank's internal baffles, but I really really like the way the phantom creates it's own sump by way of the return spouting back inside the baffle that surrounds the stealth pump.

It's going to feed a fast ez efi 2.0 :)
