Homemade Spare tire carrier for 35\".. Anybody have make one? Pics???

I would like to make one that folds down like the tail gate... it would make getting ther spare on and off much easier... I was thinking about using the trailer hitch (class III) and adapting something from there. I'll probably use 2x2 3/16 square tubing and some hinges or something. Any Ideas/plans/Pics? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifThanks...

There is a company that mass produces those things. Comes out of the hitch and folds down. Includes a liscense plate holder and light too. Sturdy and bling at the same time. Can't think of the manufactur though....

I just wanted to chime in an say that the fold down carrier is SAWEEEET!! The one pictured in DP_90K5's post is the one he made for me. The design is very strong and really neat. It's a "breathe of fresh air" since almost all of the other carriers on the market are the same basic design/style. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

for a 35, why not just use the factory tire carrier that fits inside the rig?
