What did that hood come off of?

Those things were put into use in '78 as far as I can tell, but not all trucks got them. I've only 'noticed' them on Suburbans and K5's so far. Was that hood from a pickup by chance? If so, then I REALLY don't know what determined if a rig got that one.

Way back I had an '80 K10 pick up, I remember the hole in the hood but not the reinforcement plate. Mine definitely did not have that post in the center.

It was off a 1980 K30.
