how can i get more power from my 454?

Wonder if you'd see anything moving w/ a Gopro mounted underneath.
I love the way you think!
Maybe I can barrow one and see what we can see.
Do those do slow motion recording? maybe i can even see if the flex plate is warped a little...

Many of the newer ones will record at 60fps, which will play back at half speed, but if you load them into a computer you can probably look frame by frame.

So I said F it and opted for replacing parts to track down the issue... I am way to busy and it has been to cold for me to do the work myself but I wanted it fixed now so I had my friends shop dig into it. I had a feeling it was the torque converter even though no one could positively point their finger at it, so I had him replace it as a first giant step. He said that replacing the converter FIXED THE PROBLEM. Without a doubt it was a defective converter.... I am thrilled about this news but I haven't driven it yet so I can't say one way or another just yet. His words were "I have to say I am amazed, the blazer came out good" this statement sounds promising.

Wonder if it's possible to have a torque converter throw a weight? I understand they are to be balanced like everything else in the rotational link.

Its possible, or maybe something wasn't engaging correctly so it was locking and unlocking rapidly... who knows... all that i care is that its hopefully fixed.

This thing hates me and refuses to play nice. All I can assume at this point is it wants a new home! ;)

I joke, but I went and picked it up today, ran great sounded great drove it and guess what... THE SHAKE IS GONE!!!! I'm so happy!!! but.... because this is my Jimmy we are talking about this shit was short lived... After about 1 mile of driving the power steering went out. ( little history here, they swapped the pump this week because my old one was leaking like crazy, they upgraded to a bigger newer style) I turned around ( which sucked with these 37"swampers on dry asphalt) and drove it right back to the shop. popped the hood and boom there's the issue.... the pulley fell off.... that's right... the pulley fell off the brand new pump...

Now you would think I would be pissed about this, but at this point its what I expect so I just had a good laugh and the nice guys at the shop gave me a ride to work.

My friend that owns the shop told me that what had happened was that when they switched the pump the new style had a slightly smaller shaft that the pulley connects to so the old pulley wasn't as snug as it needed to be and that's what happened. He admitted his Jr guy did it and probably didn't know. They are fixing it as we speak. Funny story but I'm optimistic that this is it and i will FINALLY be able to enjoy this nightmare i mean Jimmy....

Still no matter what happened i'm so thrilled that the shake is gone i can't see straight :)

BTW all we changed was the torque converter and nothing else. they didn't even change the flex plate.

p.s. I'd load a picture if i could figure out how to do that lol.
