how can i get more power from my 454?

Getting ready for blazer bash and decided I didn't want to bring my top. This meant I needed to build a safari top to keep myself shaded :) turned out sick!

it looks great, but its gonna try to flap its self to death at any speed passed crawl and the sound is gonna drive you insane...I'd get some fiberglass tent poles and sew in some pockets with velcro loops to run the poles thru (like a tent rain fly)..that should fix it without making it too heavy and you can still roll it up to store it. 2 poles in an X tied down in the middle would prob be perfect.
 
I think I got lucky, between the fabric i used, the straps running under it aND how freaking tight I can wrench it down its 100% silent... even on the freeway. Been driving with it for a few days and she's a mute.

So I'm finding a little rust right on the nose of my truck I dont mess with rust so i am going to replace the hood with a cowl hood any of you fine folks have suggestions on where to find the best fitting hood? i had a bad run in with LMC and doors so i hesitate a little. I am also thinking of replacing the tailgat, while its off and apart i may try to convert it to a manual crank window vs the dumpy electric. if anyone has suggestions on the tailget or conversions or cowl hoods im all ears.

Also want to call out that i nominated my buddy @72gmck5 for GMOTM go vote for him and the pic of him getting MASSIVE air!

No. this is strictly cosmetic. i hear it helps with cooling also. however, if i have extra room i may take it for a 2" carb spacer or down the road a supercharger... for now i just dont want a rusty hood so im replacing the factory hood. ( note on this, this is the second time i have fought rust in the same area and im done fighting it so replacement is the best option) also i do not want a fiberglass hood**
 
Unrelated but I need an opinion....

Thoughts on tires?
My super swamper iroks are messed up so I need new tires.
I want something that looks aggressive but does good on the street. I only go off-road a couple times a year.

I'm looking at the pitbull tires or nitto mud grappler or maybe the cooper MY.

What's the best agressinve looking 37" tire you have run?
Anyone have experience with the nitto mud grappler?
