how long have you had your K5?

Family bought my 82 c10 in 1991 for $500 I received it graduation day of high school in 06, have had it the longest other then my Dad and I will be keeping it longer.

Bought my 89 K5 around 2000 and broke my hand in 2007 and sold it to help with bills....worst mistake ever. I have a good wife and she said not to sale it but I did anyway cause I felt it was needed. She said the one I have now is to keep no matter how bad things ever get........she knows how I love K5's and could not believe that I would watch a movie just because one is in it. Surely im not the only one!

Bought my 1969 K5 in 2012 .......Tornado sends tree across in 2013 :yikes::angry1: ......Got so upset I called a friend to get it gone....WTF was i thinking, I should have calmed down for a few days first.

A close friend hooked me up with a stock 1978 K5 in 2015.

Just bought my 92 blazer in April, isn't too much of a beauty sure to primer paint and rust up top, but I've loved it since I bought it except for the time my rod bearings blew and tore my crank to $h!+, but all is well put a new engine in it, and threw some 32s on it, just working on building her up

My step dad bough put my 79 in 82 with a few miles, I don't have the slightest clue how many miles it has now but I've had it 5 years I think now. And I'll pass it on to my son as it was passed on to me.

Can I play too if I mention my K5?
I built my K10 in the mid 90's..
Bought my '90 K5 in 2010, my '72 K5 in 2015.

My parents bought our first K5, a '74, in '78 right after we moved to colorado. That was traded for the '82 I have now in '83. I started driving it in '89 which brings up that I didn't know how good I had it then driving a 7 year old vehicle. My newest ride at this point is our '04 2500HD!
That '82 K5 (Wally) started getting more offroady around '94 when I did a solo spring break trip to Canyonlands and then it really got worked over regularly starting in '97 when I started ORD.

Had an 86 K5 that was my first car, drove it all throughout high school and the first year of college. Was stock on 35's and lots of body damage. Sold it to finish college...as soon as I was done with that (and got married and had my first of 3 kids), got back in the game when I bought my current 86 K5 in February of 2012.

Looked like this when I bought it (kinda crappy pic, sorry):

Only took me just over three years to get it to this point:

I will keep it forever....if it gets completely destroyed, then I will just take all the parts off it and go get another blazer to throw all of it on. It's pretty much where I want it other than small misc little things that I will always be working/upgrading on...it does pretty well for a ridiculously huge full size chevy, haha

I purchased this 89 V3500 in November of 2015, this is how it looked when I got it...completely unmolested rust free truck:

And I immediately started to molest it :D. So haven't even owned a year yet and have done an 8.1 swap, along with converting from auto to manual with an NV4500, along with redone the interior and lifted it with an ORD lift kit and new BFG's. My hope is to be on the road by the time a year has come up that I purchased it...oh and even though I purchased it in Nov. of '15, I didn't take possession of it until March of '16 (was in WA state and took some time to get it back to CO)

I'm very excited to see my V3500 pulling my K5 and see the looks I get from people, haha

You know, now that I re-read this post...I wonder why my wife puts up with me

2004 I bought it cashola right out of high school. Right about when I joined. Many trucks have come and gone but this one has something about it that I can't let go.

And here it is today. Bent frame and broken cage. Debating if it's time to swap it all to another nice one and start wheeling the m1008.
