Funy you should mention that! That was the color i had chosen! Then once i got the added quote for the door jams and all that i just couldnt afford it... So i decided to stick with the original light blue metallic.

Hitch and bumpers. Then replace the passenger fender and I'll be all set. At this point I'm hoping to get it dropped off next Wednesday.

Finally got the rear bumper off. Ended up not having to take the hitch off so that was cool. I'm busy tomorrow so Friday I plan on starting on the front bumper and passenger fender.

Let me tell you after finishing my burb with its peeling mess that is a hell of a project you just started. Are you doing all the body work? Curious though if you are sticking with the original color why remove the glass and moldings?

Only thing im doing is replacing the passenger front fender as far as body work. THey are going to take care of the rest. They quoted my nine hours of dent repair.
eclipse, Im am pulling the glass, etc so that i dont have nay exposed tape lines. For one thing, you can have a painter with the best of intentions lay donw a horrible looking tape line. For two, any exposed tape edge its a place for wind and water to grab on to. So by hiding the lines within the seals, it help eliminate the chance for the wind to catch the paint and start ripping it off as well as helping agains water getting in behind a layer of paint. For three, ALL my window felts needed replaced anyway as did my windshield and one of the rear quarter windows. So, thats my reasoning. Better looks, better performance, and being conducive to other work.

Old fender off. Tomorrow I'll put the new one on.
Before you do, look carefully to see it there is anything that needs doing that can be done easier with it off.
Anytime any of my vehicles go on a rack, or any major part comes off, I inspect things really well.

Yep, there is some stuff to do. Mostly just in the name of cleaning. That whole area that looks like rust is just mud. So, i plan on scrubbing it up a little before i put the new fender on. Other than that, its good to go.

go buy something close in a rattlecan and trim it out before ya put it on...

Already done dude! Thanks for telling me in case i was going to skip it. But yea, i got a can of this dupli-color light blue metallic thats actully REALLY close. And also have some left over rattle clear. I'll test out on the old fender if i like it plain or cleared. I plan on painting it tonight so that i can put it on in the am. I'll take pics.

Indeed. I have been happy with progress. As it stands, i have an appointment to drop it of Tuesday A.M. That being the case, i should have it back about the Friday the 3rd. While its gone, i gotta get the 77 cleaned up and put it on the market so i can buy all the seals and junk.
