Also noticed this drag link end was fried so I replaced it. It was packed with mud!

AH Yes! Mud, the other lubricant.........

No kidding! I got it easy compared to what your dealing with! Guess it's a lucky thing I'm married, otherwise I would have attempted my own paint job too! I'm pretty sure I'm going to paint the 78 myself, but I'm not half as concerned with the outcome as i am with the burb. The bitch about all this is that this was supposed to be a quick easy deal that would last and look good for 10 years or so until I could do a teck style resto on it. It wasnt supposed to be so complicated. I just live/dream for the day when I have a good sized shop/garage so that I can do a 5 year build on it and not feel rushed because it's in the way like it is now it my tiny garage. I want to live in a world where u can take a week to reassemble a door because I'm more concerned about doing a good job than I am about just getting it done. I'm in an interesting spot with this truck. I hardly even care about driving it, yet I want it "done" and I want it perfect. I want it perfect, not so that it's perfect while I'm driving it, but so it's perfect when i look at it. Not that i don't want to drive it! Cause i want that too! But I'm tiered of looking at it and knowing that its a project that begs for completion, yet is constantly ignored, back burnered, and neglected. I just want it complete when i look at it. And more than just about anything I want it have a permanent spot INSIDE! I hate having it sit outside all the time. It belongs inside.

To me, this truck is like an old friend. One that you used to hang out withand do all kinds of fun stuff. But after a while life takes hold and you drift apart. You still talk some times, mmaybe see each other now and then, but you think about the good old days all the time. Where even tho life took you a different way, your thoughts aren't gone from what you thought "some day " would be like. I dunno. Its hard to explain. But i think most of you know what I'm getting at.

This is the reason I wouldn't let my 82 go... I had to build it. :woot:

Good luck on the repaint, I will be hoping for the best.

Man, this just sucks you have to go through this entire poop again. They should at least hook you up with a few cases of beer to aid in the pain of disassembling and reassembling the burb all over again. Hope it works out this time buddy :waytogo:

If not, we're all going up there to kick some painter ass

Yeah...next thing you know it will be pole dancing in the yard with your best friend...:haha:

Gotta wonder if there is a back story to that!

Thanks baba!

No kidding! I tried as hard as I could to get them to give me something for my trouble but they were not giving anything away... If it doesn't go right this time, ryoken is getting an all expenses paid trip to portland to paint a suburban...

Good luck with it this time hope it all works out for the the good.
I understand your filling about it. I did just kind of put mine aside few a few years but I never gave up on it.
Even with my build it didn't take a week to build a door.:doah:

Thanks teck. You know what i mean. I just mean that if you hit a wall on something, it's no big deal cause you can just take your time with it.
