Look like painted DC-1's...

yep those are them. I think they are 15x10. The only problem is that the guy befor me went off with a can of red spray paint and did a really bad job. plus if you look he also decided that yellow was a great color to paint a bunch of stuff under the truck.

If he used cheap paint I bet you could strip it off with some acetone without removing the factory paint (since it's no doubt better quality, or possibly even powder coat).
Might be worth a shot, maybe find a place on the back of the wheel to try it.

wow, that thing is really nice, good job on the resto!

Thanks, Had a friend do the bodywork basicly in a barn, replaced the steel roof on the 88 tub (role over) offshore doors, fenders, hood under $5000.oo canadian, changed frames, changed gears to 4:88,added a detroit to the front, home built ram assist, bought and installed a used NV4500 mated to a NP205 which i twinsticked, hydrolic clutch, made a rear bumper,38.5"SX's, Reused a lot of my old stuff..interior,springs,ft bumper/winch, diff's/rear detroit, engine, cross oversteering......All in All under $8000.oo. Have had this truck since/94 total $ spent including purchase....$20,000, other than changing to radials and 5th gear noise this should last me till they take my licence away......unless I role it ;)

Do you have any pics of you doing the install on the NV4500? I am wanting to do this myself and I was hoping to see how difficult it was.

I did take pics with the old film type camera.....don't know where they are though. I used a trans from a /96 4x4, 32 spline output, i used a 32 spline input from an older style T400/np205 (short style), had to notch the stock Tcase adaptor for the Tcase shift rod, made a linkage and mount for the twinstick. Total length was within an inch of the stock 4spd set up. I went with an internal slave (/96) and a master set up from an /88 and mickymoused the two hydrolic lines together. Used a crossmember and mount from an 88 blazer. The X member needed to be heated and slightly bent to clear the bottom of the 205. Cheap and Easy.

lift

It all depends on what you want to do with it. My first blazer was an 88 and I put a 4 inch rancho lift under it, blocks and springs, and I put 33x12.5x15 mastercraft tires on it, looked great, still drove great on the road, and kicked ass out in the trail mud or beach. My second was a 91 with a 4 inch procomp lift, which was not as big as the rancho 4 inch lift, it had 33x12.5x15 BFG AT's. Drove great just like my 88. My third is an 84 with a 4 inch suspension lift and a two inch body lift, with 37x12.5x15 Intreco tires. It has 4.88 gears, and it drives good, could be more forgiving on the road, had it only a few days, have yet to get it off road. But lift all depend on what you want to do. I say bigger is better.

'91 K5 350 TBI stock, 35s Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, 4 inch Rancho lift on blocks (i guess it's 4inch...dunno exactly ). Pre-owner invested around USD 40'000.- over 5 years to rebuild & restore, it's like new and i love it! :p:
