How will my K5/truck look with xx" tires on xx" of lift?

well guys, that's right, you don't see it, and you lucky ones live over there in the states, where all these parts are just so f***ing cheap!

The work was done by professionals and the parts over here (shipping etc.) cost much more than you would believe, but the worst thing is the work on it.

When reading thru all the bills, it seems that this one had a bad front accident once and was rebuilt from the ground on...

It seems every single screw has been replaced and everything else. You can believe me if I say it is a quite expensive hobby restoring these old american cars over here in Europe my friends, you should really be aware how lucky you are!

Only the road tax per year costs me around 1000.- USD, + Insurance costs of about 1800 USD, not to mention the gas prices over here (around 1.40 USD per liter...)

So it's better to have a rig in a rather good condition and keep it there instead of building up a new one, unless you're a mechanic, which i'm not and i don't have the space to work on the car...

and hey: running an old american in Switzerland is like having a Benz or a Beemer or an older Porsch in the States, you see, life's different over here, but still good ;)

Body work is expensive... I was quoted 9000 CAD to completely restore the body on my K5 and that didn't include the parts! (new rear quarters, rockers, pull all the dents, floor pans, paint)

Luckily, I am getting the work done much cheaper by the local college autobody shop (2000). Hopefully the students can do a good job though :eek1:

A lot of awesome trucks in here.

Mine's a 74 with 4" front springs, ORD shackle flip and 1" zero rate in rear with stock worn springs. 33's
(now I want to go bigger) :D

That is one awesome looking truck. I just saw it on Ebay the other day. I wish you were closer to Bama, I would have loved to take a look at it. I am currently restoring a 73' and in my mind I had planned it to look basically just like yours, I am not copying, I didn't know this one existed til I saw it on Ebay. I hope you got what you wanted for it.

That is a super clean MT Classic...very tasteful...like the paint on it. You wheel that thing?

ive only had it a few months, and still tryin to get it ready. But ya i plan on gettin a little mud on the tires!!

i like it too, but if you get close to it, you'll see that it wasn't masked very well, but i could care less right now. it's not a show truck.

You either need to pay for membership or have a minimum post count or both. I don't remember exactly...
