How would you deal with a deadbeat seller?

If you feel right with him getting the money and the doors, shawn, THEN SHIP THEM TO HIM! Do it out of your own pocket. Maybe if he posts here a few weeks, months, years, decades from now that he actually got the doors your going to ship to make the deal better, people would forgive and trust you again. Not me, though. Screwing someone once for over 6 months puts guys on my sheeyat list. It's just sad that this had to happen to get you moving.
 
Kinda drastic

I was hosed over on Ebay once for a laptop. Sent the man money by Postal Order and never received the computer. Bad mistake on his part. I reported to the USPS Inspectors. They nabbed him. He was sent to jail for 7 years over the one charge. That was after plea bargaining too! The USPS even offered to pay my travel expenses if I needed to come testify. Judge made sure full restitution was made before the jerk was let ou of jail too, going so far as to send me a letter at the end of 6.5 years asking if I had received satisfaction in full. When I replied that I hadn't they told him that final payment would be received and acknowledged by me before he could be released. Wow. That check came fast!

My $0.02 worth. Let him know that you expect to be paid in full by a certain date (that you set) and do so in writing by certified mail. Let him know you will persue prosecution if the date is not met. I bet he ponies up real quick like.

DO NOT SCREW WITH THE USPS. You think we come down hard on terrorists then you just haven't dealt with a postal inspector.

I'm glad to see things are coming together. I give credit where credit is due, shawn did a good thing by changing his origional post, and by acting mature in resolving this matter. I know we all make mistakes, and I hope lessons are learned by them.

After re-reading my origional post, I think a restriction or probation is better than a Ban.

What a friggin ****. When I sell parts on here I send the part first and then once the Buyer gets them then the money gets sent. I would rather lose out on the part than to **** over another member on this site.

good idea...

i only deal that way, or send both at the same time.

ban him from the classified section please. he really has no business in there anymore, he should lose his privilages. ive come to trust members, and most of the time, we send the money and the part at the same time, bc of a little thing called trust. ck5 members are like a huge family and i dont want to have to worry about stuff i buy and sell here.

glad you got your cash back.. Face to face is the only way to go... ill never buy anything from people off of websites through the mail.. seen too much horse****...
 
Ive only had good dealings with ck5 people..... and from everyone on here I speak with its really rare that some idiot does this... and in this case a little peer pressure made him step up....
he should still be banned from selling

Well hell, this sucks. He owes me a set of Dana 60 bearing hubs that I paid for a while back. It has been a while (year), but I havent needed them and the last time I asked about them, he still had them. I actually just pm'd him a while ago asking about them befor seeing this thread.

WOW!! After all of this bad buying pr, maybe we should start a thread about all the good dealings we've had on cK5. Esp. about people in AZ, I don't want this incident tarnishing our good name. I'm pretty new and have already had 4 good deals from members here.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I'll have to post up. I just wanted to make sure newbies realized how rare these problems are, and that the selling forums here are a pretty safe place to buy.
 
HOW about paying mike ..90blzr for his stuff... or better yet paying him back AND sending him his hubs....
