I'll start a new build thread though

I've been really busy with hockey and haven't done much. And the little time I do have is spent on our race car ATM.

I took some pics today

At least it rolls now

I just need to make engine mounts and a crossmember, then after It's driving I'll cut to cutting the whole back off and narrowing the front.

I have a 10 bolt in the rear now, I think I may just go with rockwells so I'm not going to get a rear end just yet. I think the rock wells might be cheaper than regearing the 1 tons.

I'm keeping the one tons and am just going to try and get a sm465

I should be done with my engine cross member after this weekend and can get the engine mounted.

I also got all the parts for my drag link, so I can do it this weekend also. I got 1.5" .25 wall DOM for the drag link and I'll probably get 1.75" with 1" inside diameter for my tie rod.

Then I'm going to push it outside and degrease the chassis and engine compartment and start painting everything desert tan.

And heres what I have underneath to get it rolling around

The leaves are pointed up a lot, could this cause a problem?

Not sure what you mean by pointed up, they are really flat though. No arch at all. Looks like they are already going negative.

I just mean the front hanger is further from the ground than the rear so the spring is sloped.

And those springs have from my dads suburban, they have probably 10k miles, Hecho en Mexico. He stole my original springs along with the rear axle.

I think I'll try to find lift springs or low mile springs and do an add a leaf.

I need to make some gussets still

And hopefully it works

You can see it isn't perfectly straight when the wheel is centered.

It also turns out both the tie rods I had are right hand thread, I'll see if I can find some tomorrow. I think they are of a superduty

I bought an ES2010L TRE

Should be able to steer by tomorrow. Then I can push it out and weld on my fish plates, and crossmember brackets then pressure wash everything and get ready to paint it.

I'm not sure I want to truss the frame

Do you it would be worth it?

Oh and my pitman arm is off a grand Cherokee in case you were wondering

It steers

The crossmember is ready to be put in also

Ignore the mess I haven't cleaned under my truck in like 6 months

Before

After(before engine) it's a bit lower now, and should go down even more after the tranny and transfer case.

Here it is with equal tires, looks like ass. The front is way high right now.

Sorry for the giant picture, photobucket isn't working right now.

I want it to be like this

Right now the engine is supported on the springs right now, so hopefully after I get the tranny in it will go down like 3 inches

You can see the tube right here, there is probably 200-300 pounds on it

I think I may re drill the spring pack to move the axle forward some more.
