Howdiymobile....

Yeah

I've been trying to talk myself out of the rear cage but I'll just make myself go through with it.

I know it's going to turn out to be a PITA though lol

Maybe I will talk to myself out of it

I'll do something like this and just do bumpers and sliders

Maybe I'll do a cage if I some extra cash at the end. I'll find some seamless structural pipe

You should do the ORD orange truck rear end. That's sweet. I think it's my next project

The harbor freight bender kind of sucks

Good enough for bumpers but not for a tube back, I'll have the front done in another day if I go work on the truck tomorrow

I cut one side of the fenders out in the front

I'll leave the stock back for now, I'll leave the wheel position pretty much the same also. I'll just trim the front of the fender. And then I'll redrill the perch to move the axle back about an inch

And my fancy starter

I'm going just going to the standard pre runner bumper up front

I should have all the pieces bent today, Probably not the notches though

They didn't have any tubing today, I'll get 20 feet tomorrow

I got the the accessory's and belts on today at least. Tomorrow I'll find or get some starter bolts and mount the starter. Might even be able to start it this weekend. I get the axle this weekend also

Got a 14 bolt

Now I just need to shave it, and paint it, and it already has welded spider gears so that saves some time.

Yesterday I got the starter on, the new hooker headers on, and had my dad do the wiring since he went from a tbi to carb on his truck recently.

And I put some "stickers" from photobucket over the wheels

Looks kind of cool

I still haven't found any springs. I'm trying to trade 8" lift 52's for 56"s right now.

Anyways I picked up dodge springs today, 28" from the front to the the center, and 32" front center to the back. They should be perfect length...hopefully

My other set of 15" 8 lug wheels should come soon and then I'll my axle and springs in.

My bumper is pretty much done, just have to notch some ends and weld it. I got a hang of the pipe bender and it bends pretty decently compared to the pro tools 105 bender I've made a cage with before.

I'm going to drop the front a bit and raise the rear. I'll get some pieces cut so I can build some new longer shackles, my angle is kind of ****ty at the moment.

I'm not really sure what I want to do with the bumper either, either a stinger and the two supports or a pre runner type of skid plate.

I got the bender figured out so I can make pretty decent bends

I'll have to get about 60 more feet of pipe to finish up the rear bumper and sliders.

Thanks, I'm just going to draw some pieces to get cut out on autocad to make new shackles, and then take the overload and a leaf out of the front springs

And here is what I'm thinking on the bumper

I haven't done anything in almost 3 weeks, it will be another week or two before I do more, schools almost over

It runs now at least, my dad did all the wiring while I was in school.

I did get two new bendix front calipers for 20 bucks plus shipping, after I get them and make sure they work I'll put up the source

I'm making a list of what I need to do to drive it:

-Drill out rear shackle mount holes,. then use 7/16" UNF with lock nuts to bolt it on.
-Cut hole for transfer case shifter
-Bolt torque convert to flywheel
-Run transmission cooling lines
-Fix brakes lines(Braided front and rear lines, plus new hard line running to rear
-Put on rear u bolts
-trim the rest of the fenders
-Install shackles
-Put in new drive shaft(I'll probably have to have it modified)
-get new TRE

It should drive after that stuff

Then I'm going to

-install seats
-Mount shocks
-make sliders
-new draglink
-maybe make an exhaust
-make rear bumper
-Paint roof
-make anti wrap bar
-weld axle tubes
-Trim 14 bolt lip
-install hydro assist
-poser shots

What diameter and type of tube is your front bumper made of?

Does that Harbor Frieght bender work worth a crap on it? I've thought about getting one of those but I didn't know if they worked on DOM type tube or not.

It's 1.5" pipe from Lowes, the bender works ok after you get the die polished

I'm not sure about DOM, I don't know if I have any laying around to try out

I don't feel like wasting money on DOM when the pipe is 17 dollars for 10 ft, it's just a bumper, I'm going to add some more tube, just can't make up my mind yet. I think I'll add the stinger and support to help protect the grill when I'm driving over trees and brush
