Howdiymobile....

Yeah next year and a half hopefully, basically don't have enough time for a job so no funds to do much. I had a decent thing going online but it kinda fell apart because google is cracking down on marketing stuff

I also don't wanna tear it apart as its usable now

I'm starting to get the wheels spinning on an idea of going topless and getting a k5 top to use as a roof though . These things usually don't end well

I mainly just wanna use it to the point where I need to cut the body off, rather than wanting to. I felt it wasn't safe without efi as it wasn't running good and stalling on hill climbs that had probably 50-100ft elevation changes. So I was really limited to what I could do

I have a few weeks off at this point, it's been raining everyday and I can't pull my truck inside right though. I'm going to mount up the suspension seat I got and put a harness in, thats about the only thing I've got planned, maybe finish up the front headlights and such

Lol it's been almost a year, but shooting for this

My dad is working on a carb, he took a double pumper off another car, hes going to make the fuel vent like the holley offroad one so it cant spill over. He said he painted the front blue and is going to get some pinstrip also.

Change the plugs and oil and should be good, costco has a good deal on mobil 1 right now

Just need to make a rear tow point or bumper when I'm back home over spring break

5th year :haha:

2 years living at home, 1 at a university 45 min away, and now I'm in my second year at a university 3 hours away

Changed major from mechanical to Construction engineering, basically civil engineering and construction management together. Hoping to get an internship somewhere soon. Taking a pretty heavy load right now so can't go home often.

How have you been?

Been spending most of my freetime on this, haven't seen the truck in probably a few months :dunno:

I made a website in the past few weeks and have been posting my projects on there. A few weeks worth behind on the car still, and a few years on the truck page . It's going to take awhile to write up everything on the truck. Been hosting my pictures there also, photobucket is annoying with their bandwidth. I set it up so it puts a watermark on everything also

cool, knew you had been in a while now..... all's good around here... I'll have to go spy the site...

Haven't done anything

Bought a 50" light bar, easier than making light brackers :haha:. Can't go wrong for 200 bucks

http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-inch-300...t=US_Car_Lighting&hash=item3a84f3c79a&vxp=mtr

My dad painted the front and had some pin stripping made, looks good

I didn't feel like doing anything over spring break so no rear bumper was made. Just went out on the boat and relaxed, ended up chasing a boost leak on my dodge also

None of the classes I need are offered over summer so I'll be home for a few months, will try to get the front bumper finished and the rear bumper made and go wheeling, no real project plans at this point besides actually using it

Maybe EFI if the funds come around, hoping the carb mods work well. Someone actually showed us how to tune a carb and it runs way better now

Ran like crap even after the carb mods, efi or propane is next

Light bar is awesome, 215 bucks shipped, just going to add some DOT lights now and I'm thinking about getting a tag for the road

Power steering box top cap seal blew out, don't have a cooler on it now. Going to block the back inlet on the power steering pump and add a cooler and route the fluid to go into the reservoir. Then I'll probably run amsoil tractor fluid

It did pretty good, did the moderate trail, the steering blew out on the exit of it. Would be a lot easier if I wasn't having to keep the truck from stalling the whole time any time I hit a bump or went up a steep climb

Didn't even get any pics

Well at least ya got out there!

Yep ^^ :D

So the light bar was a good buy then ?

For the carb problems, I know where your coming from :doah:, I tinkered, played with, and adjusted mine soo many times only to be dissapointed or not be able to safely try certain trails. I went efi on my K30 and can honestly say it was the best mod yet !! I went "cheap" ....as in a TBI system from AFI and couldn't be happier.......the truck could be sitting straight up and down and will idle and rev like its on flat ground !!

Light bar is definately worth every dollar. I might redo the mount and mount it lower and in front of the windsheild, but for now this will suffice. My dad built this mount while I was at school

It puts the 55w HID's in the fogs to shame in my dodge

Yeah It was nice taking it out for once

Unfortunately my big block being relatively built makes efi and propane a bit more expensive

By the sounds of things, if you do the walboro pickups in the tank, you can run an external pump just fine. Even low on gas and at hard angles.

I emailed them about this without the pump

http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/p...duct_id=84/category_id=61/mode=prod/prd84.htm

I tend to not think I'll need the pick ups with my fuel cell, it's only 7" wide by 30" long, I would say as long as I keep a decent amount of fuel in the tank i'll be fine

But I will start researching more about the pickups, I wasn't planning on jumping into this right now but couldn't say no to that price.

I probably need to put my suspension seat in and harnesses also

True on this...I believe Norby w/ his Sonoma, Kert and myself have all run the Walbro pickups w/ external pumps w/ great results, I have the FAST equivalent of a Walbro 255 pump....I think Matt is running an intank pump w/ his present LS setup now.

Suggested external mounting of the pump is at or below the bottom of the tank level.

I guess I should probably actually finish this thing up, I finally graduate August 8th and was able to land a job locally :thumb:

I made a quick list of things I want to do

  • Add a leaf on the front to push the axle forward a bit
  • Power steering cooler and install new pump
  • The EZ efi from ebay ended up being a scam so I still dont have EFI
  • I want to mount some headlights to get it street legal again
  • I need to mount my suspension seats
  • I need to do something with the motor mounts, the poly bushings have sagged and the pan is hitting the crossmember, I think i might be able to order tall mounts to fix it, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moroso-6251...yle-/361236710235?hash=item541b62c35b&vxp=mtr

Of course thats just the initial, I've still got too many ideas churning in my head
