Howdiymobile....

Thanks, I was wondering whose truck that was when I saw the rausch creek thread. I feel like I miss half the build threads on here

It's kind of gotten tedious but not too bad, it's the only thing I've got to do this summer, I took off from everything.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel at this point, kind of :haha:

I dig the shock mounting...

and high five for quick vc wingnuts! :haha: luv it, ran them things on so many hotrods it wasn't funny... ESSENTIAL for solid cammed motors! :pimp:

I ran out of regular nuts and had to use those when I put the valve covers on, I've been meaning to them and the valve covers for awhile now

Everyones minds will be blown when I post the videos I have of the shocks, But I'll wait and see if I can get everything sorted out first

true, they are a bit dated and have a tendency to work their way loose..

They work good for zip tying wires to them though :D

Broke a vein or something, never seen anything swell up so fast, this was after I had it taped up for a bit

FOA doesn't post on here so fug it I'll post the videos

The other 3 shocks appear to not be leaking at the moment, but do have the shaft wobble I videod

Also coming out around the shaft

Every time I see FOA shocks I just hope they have better luck than I did. Looks like you didn't. They are good to work with and they will fix you up, but it will take a while, maybe more than once, and in the end you will wish you just spent the money for better shocks. I suggest you rebuild them yourself, they will send you the parts. It will give you a chance to get out all the burrs and debris from inside the shock. It's probabyl the only way you are going to fix them right, because they will just yank the seals, put new ones in, and slap them back together with all the crap in there.

Good work by the way, all that without a bender. Nice job. I am wondering though, the couple bends that are there, were they from a kit or something or where did those pieces come from?

Yep, going to rebuild the 14's up front myself. I just need to finish up the cage so I can clean the work bench from the metal shavings and have a place to work on them.

I sold the 16's and covered my cost so I basically got the 14's for free

Technically I do have a bender, its the harbor freight pipe bender. It will do the bends I have perfectly, but anything sharper and it starts to mess the bend up

Thanks, I'm ready for a break from it :haha:

They were used but never ran, only used for mock up

But they are Failed On Arrival shocks, so they are meant to rebuilt as soon as you receive them

To gusset or not to gusset?

I think I may just leave it for now and gusset it when I do coilovers

These gussets are going on for sure, I've got a few others not pictured also, should help a lot

And should I add the red to mount a harness? I kind of want to leave this out also

I looked at FOA's when I first thought about going with bypass shocks and then I heard too much bad news about them. I'm saving for some Kings..ugh

I've considered selling the two I have left and getting another brand, but I'll end having to spend at least 300 bucks.

I think I'll be able to get the issues sorted out with these and be happy with them

Then I'll take the money I save and buy my 35 spline stubs :pimp:

I'll mount my old monotubes in the mounts for now :haha:

dang!

You've come a long way since I joined up here, I recall using your thread to learn how to convert to 4wd!

great job, love the look :waytogo:

Thanks, I appreciate that

I think I've figured out how to finish my truck up even with this rain, we'll see :pimp:
