Took a pic of mine from 8 lug, 12 bolt rims. I found two types of nuts and two types of bolts. Overall length, size, and TPI were the same. OAL is 2 1/4" and I'll accept the mentioned 1/2" and 20 TPI. The only difference in the bolts is the splined shank which is about 1/8" more. The long splines are about 3/8".
The nuts are the same but the one definitely has the grade 8 look about it. Both are marked the same and the flange is smooth. The nuts were a mix of several rims, and I still didn't get enough, so I'm not sure of any correlation there. One possibility with the bolts though is while removing them I discovered two of my rims are the newer type of 12 bolt rims. The newer rims have a higher load rating and other than looking at the load rating there is an additional hole between two of the bolt holes. This hole is slightly smaller, 7/16(?), than the others and I don't know why it is there.
