I will be trying to get this a little organized and show what pictures i have, put them in order to show what ive done so far and what possible plans i have for the future.

its getting closer to running again already. Maybe another month be somewhat nailed down other than a few bigger projects.

Yes, i should have taken a video of when i took the front clip off. I could have probably bent it down and snapped it off with my arms it was just wiggling on there barely.

Weird it was on Pass side aswell.
To be honest i didnt even know it was cracked until i bought it from my stepmom about a year or so ago. My father in law was the one that pointed it out after i bought it, and i was like, what did i just get into?

We always just putted around in it real easy so i bet it was cracked like that for the whole 17 years we had it, probably why i always thought it had such a soft ride.

I got 208 SYE back from Tom Woods Yesterday, going to reassemble it and put in so i can measure for rear driveshaft tomorrow.

I thought build threads used to have a table of contents, I've been looking around and cant see them on other peoples profiles. Going to try and make it user friendly as possible so others could find what they need back for reference. Its hard to find some things in the 100 page builds. Maybe i just need to get used the website more.

that doesn't look like your blazer in the background but looks like another square body; what's the specs on it?

Heres some stuff already gotten done, and that needs to still be done.

Did all vacuum lines, fuel lines, delete egr. Change send unit all new coolant hoses. Working on body mounts, got 208 SYEd, bumps tacked, swaybar installed, brakes ran,

i broke a bolt i guess i dont realize my own strength, i have been torqing everything but i didnt feel like that was even that tight

Springs on new bushings fush kit frame plates welded on, motor mounts, trans mount, engine xmember. Axles rebuilt, spark plugs gapped and installed, new ps pump hoses box and pitman arm along with draglink and highsteer tierod, belts.


I still have to order rear driveshaft, check front one that i got handmedown, redo exhaust, put in fuel tank, build sliders, rollbar, rear bumper tow wires for front bumper, fix my ac box that has a huge hole in it, mount shocks limit straps,

Im sure im missing a few things here and there.

Yall see anything i need to do or think about doing or some easy or cool ideas let me know also if you have questions

That one is my father in laws 79k20 single cab, i still need to write up a bunch of stuff, and see if hell let me make one of these builds for his stuff, hes gonna have some pretty cool stuff on a different build. That truck he has done a bunch too. Everything except links and coils that you could possibly want.

His build he is workin on now will be 86crew cab k30 w/links and coils, arb fridges as center consoles front and or rear, magnum 205, 6.2L & trans out of 2017 Denali and other stuff itll be epic.

I might throw in a 5.7vortec in mine in a year or so gotta research and get funds to do efi probably the MSD Atomic.

Well two of body bolts in bed have a nice tac on them, so i gotta grind these welds off to replace body bushings.


Im not sure what to set my bump at for rear, was thinking of putting in gastank, filling it up, and throwing four tires in the back on rims to simulate for the added weight of rear bumper and spare, and then deduct 1” for spring breakin so i can set bumps and measure droop to make sure i order right driveshaft

Any ideas?

Mine had the weds also, I used an angle grinder put a plus sign in the bolt head and hit it with a chisel to break the pieces off the a punch and hammer drove what was left of the bolt out.

I guess you ran new bolts back in.

Yes I did. They came with the kit I bought, I figured they would be shot and the pieces I got out were all rusted and some were stuck to the collars
