I bought a Corvette.

Try swap meets
And the NAPA TA/FC has a sweet blue...

I went and grabbed some parts from a crusty '77 a guy was parting out. Bought his core calipers, and used them to purchase some reman calipers. While I was there I accidentally bought some aluminum wheels for it. I may take some pictures tomorrow.

I have a soft spot for the "unloved" years of Corvettes. I wouldn't mind having one someday.

did you get stainless sleeved calipers?

The 15"x7" Rally wheels from a 1977 Monte Carlo do not fit. They have too much backspacing. So while buying some parts off of a 1977, the guy offered the wheels that were on it to me. I didn't want them, as they were aftermarket wheels. He said he had a set of aluminum wheels off of a 1980 though. I ended up getting them bought for $270 (more than I wanted to pay). They had used them for autocross, so they had some ridiculous 225/50R15 tires on them.

I bought a set of Cooper Cobras in 255/60R15. I wanted BFG Radial T/A's, but they were considerably more expensive, and neither are really a performance tire.

comp t/a's were the shit back in the 80's, BFG was pushing them hard to compete with the gatorbacks on the Vettes

It would have made the Corvette look like a truck with an 8" lift on 235/75R15's.

Haha! But what nice low gearing you would have.

The tires you bought and the wheels will suit the year of it.

Does it run?

It has no drivetrain in it currently, but I did fire the engine while it was hanging from a chain, just to see if it would.

In 1979, GM put deeper gears in Corvettes for some reason. My guess is because of the Little Red Express. So this car should have 3.50:1 gears.
