[/ QUOTE ] Because you don't have to shift, it's faster, and can handle more power without having to remove the whole transmission to upgrade a clutch. 200K is a LONG time.
It's just a matter of personall preferance really. I like autos myself and rather spend the extra cash to have a strong, reliable auto. But I have never had to deal with a bad rebuilder before, my local guy is great, and would probably be pretty disgusted if I kept blowing an auto because of a bad rebuilder or just a plain stroke of bad luck for that matter. I also think an engine lasts longer and has an easier life in front of an auto than a manual.
