I have a sickness...

Seems sorta reasonable in price...I'll have to have another look at your thread. maybe it was you and howdiy that planted this BBC thing in my head? ;)

So, you're not coming to Blazer Bash?

Oh yes I am...just not bringing the big block with me. ;)

i'll be breaking that rule for sure...in the process of swapping in the slightly better geared 10 and 12 bolt, adding the lift, a bit more sheet metal work. Maybe a few other small things. Kids want tunes, so probably a stereo. I have a small leak in the rad, not quite sure what to do that isn't hack, doesn't cost a ton, but is a reliable fix. Bear in mind the 350 and that rad are coming out shortly after Moab... :doah:

pepper? fine ground black pepper? How much? How good is the fix? If I had any significant time off before Blazer Bash I would drop the 454 in...but I don't and have a big enough to do list as it is.

Sounds hack but diesel4me and someone else on here clued me into this stuff. Find a tube of Alumaseal at the parts store. Looks like fine metallic particles. I used the silver stuff but another version or a competitor is gold colored.

I'd never use any of the goups or paste stuff but they swore up and down by this stuff. Figured for less than $5 I can give it a try.

Sealed up my water pump leak (from the big plate behind the pump on the 6.2L) about instantly and in the ensuing 4 months hasn't given me any trouble. Truck runs fine, temp is the same, coolant is fine, no leaking, etc etc etc.
Give it a shot.

Sounds like a plan. I'll have to look for it, thanks!

There is supposed to be an "end"? That doesn't sound fun...:D

Is that a new cork oil pan gasket I see ???

If so...I wonder why the pan was off...:thinking:

I think it was freshened up by the P.O.

"1990 chev 454 complete long block with intake was tbi motor which has recondition with new gaskets waterpump "

Yeah, new gaskets and stuff everywhere. It appears to be intake, valve covers, timing cover, oil pan.

I'm not gonna touch it for a while yet, but I'm thinking brass freeze plugs, new double roller TC, maybe swap some sexier valve covers on (damn BBC covers are pricy!) and paint it something other than flat black.

Noticed when I got it home it needs a dipstick tube too.
