my buddy swears company custom made a bunch of them for the alaska pipeline, and he says theres one not too far from my house. Id really like to know more info on these things!

I heard about a 1973-87 extracab truck today

I've seen pictures of extended can 73-87's. I don't know the name of the company that did them though. I'd love to find one...even thought of making my own. I'd swap a truck cab on to the k5 frame and extend the back wall of the cab to just in front of the rear axle. I think there may have been a thread over at pirate about odd ball Chevys with some info.

Not a totally factory truck the conversion was done by a company in texas I think but sold at chevy dealerships as new trucks

im pretty sure one of my moms friends had one when i was a kid.i remember it because he worked for the army at the airstrip as a plane refueler and he said he got it from them.but thats all i know.this was in farbanks,ak.i believe it was a early 80s version.

I've seen a few in the pull a part yards that didn't hold up well. They were full of Bondo and very rusted in the addition areas.

Great looking truck, minus the paint job. Prob worth the 12K if it`s as clean as it looks. I`d like to see a pipeline x cab, wonder if they were stipped base models, you`d think they need all the inteior crap to cover up the conversion work.

I dont doubt that they packed those things full of bondo, but that truck is sweet. Ive seen pics of a few of those before but they were all piles.

I can see if maybe I can get some pics. It'll be weird to just ask a random dude if I can get pics of the inside but sometimes you just can't be scared
they didnt have extended cabs on the pipe line i ever saw.tons of reg cabs and crew cabs tho

Ahh. I think it's the same truck. Like I said it was dark (I was drinkin too)but I remember it was red and extended cab. Now you have me curious. I'll have to go look
