Today I picked up my new Dana 60. It originally came out of a truck with 28,000 miles on it, now its got 5.13 gears, detroit locker, 35 spline shafts, crossover steer arm, new brakes, kingpins and all the goods rebuilt:D I'll be putting it in this winter, I cant wait.

very nice. how much did ya pay for it? ive got the exact same axle (cept i had to dish out the $$ to build it myself) you are going to love it.

I got the axle for 1000 plus another 100 for the crossover arm and drag link (no ends)

wow, with all that stuff on it, its definitely worth almost double what you paid.....SWEET FIND!

i just got mine too this week:D

my shopping spree for mine started today, I however will stay with the 4.56 since I already have a doubler and I also want to street my buggy as it will be fully registered and legal. seems you got yours with a bag of goodies already on!

love them dana 60's:saweet:

if it helps anyone i have converted the dana 60 dulie front hub to single wheel by having the wheel mounting flange cut off at my local machine shop then drilling out the threaded holes for the studs it has worked great on my blazer

how much did the machining cost?

I bought a DRW D60 for $360 with 4.56 gears. then paid $320 for 2 brand new SRW hubs with rotors, races, and wheel studs already installed from GM. $510 for crossover from ORD. $30 for u-bolts and its under my truck and been wheeled hard several times.

60 bucks to have the flange cut off and true up the new wheel flange then new brake rotors, wheel studs, lug nuts wheel bearings inner an outer ,seals warn hubs, 1 new ubolt, 2.5 inch steering block and a drop pitman arm
i don't remember exact prices but in total i think around 650 bucks for all that is listed above then another 809 bucks for a arb air locker
some day i will go to cross over steering but not right now with the 2.5 inch block and drop pitman it works ok

good luck tryin to break it im runnin 42 inch tractor tires on mine and it just begs for more punishment. the best thing i ever done to my truck!

Talk to Willyswanter he has broken several shafts in his 60 and RyanB broke in clean in half:eek1: the whole axle not a shaft.

The 60 didn't come with hubs. What do you guys recommend? lock outs or drive flanges? It's probably gonna end up being trail only since I just got an 88 k5 today
