I need your advice

I honestly couldn't tell you, neither truck has a tach.

However Big Ugly has 4.56 gears, 38's, a TH400, and no sound deadening and if I go above 70mph it sounds like the engine wants to come through the firewall and beat me to death.

This is approximately 2800 RPM. And as he runs on hiway to these tires, what dynamics? Have enough engine power if you put 4.10 gears?

Dynamics...as in driving? Does pretty well but you have to remember a naturally aspirated 6.2L isn't a power house. Gearing and torque do wonders though.

I've thought about putting a over drive equipped transmission in but I like manuals and a NV4500 would cost a LOT and be rather complicated. Going to try a SM465 non-OD and see how much power I gain, several members on here have said it's noticeable. After that maybe a Ranger unit.

Thank you, I understand about torque. I like diesel engines, but I've never been V8 DIESEL :eek1:

Some people swear by them while others swear at them. Hard to say. The thing you have to remember is that a naturally aspirated 6.2L wasn't meant to do any more than a stock carb'd 350. People want to compare them to a 5.9L Cummins or other big truck engine and of course they come out short.

4l80 possible to use engine 6.2l? If someone is installed, it'll show how connected the electronics that need to install?

Another question, gear ratio 4.56 is not very small for the tires to be 42" ?

4.56's would be a bit high (numerically low) for the 42's. You'd probably want 4.88's.

Yes, you can use the 4L80E with the 6.2L but you need a stand alone computer controller for the transmission. Guys on here have done it.
