In my shop. Doing stuff.
Drove it back from Portland to Colorado with the transporter trailer behind it.

Towed the 5th wheel with the wife's trailblazer on it.

Working on it today. Actually, every day. Took the splash plate off of the back to raise the hitch 8 inches. This is what I found.

The 2 1/4" x 6" pieces of angle iron on each side, are all that holds the back of the rack on the truck. These were holding the 50K pound trailer loaded trailer up and to the truck. So the 4 bolts at the back of the cab and the 6 under the front bumper were all that was holding it.

Love the welding right next to the sticker. Next to the cracked frame.

The angle iron and frame are cracked out of the welds. All of the welds held. It is a piss poor design and fabrication job that caused this. So tomorrow its a trip to the metal yard for some 3/8 plate.

Freightliner sticker?

IE tempered frame = Dont weld on this ever it will ruin the structure of the frame and therefore the trucks weight rating?
