Nice. Used to know a guy with a '67 or '68 GMC 4x4 shortbed stepside with the 305 V6. Fully restored and just damn beautiful. There's no sound like one of those things.

For right now that's my goal with my 62. Rebuild the 305 v-6 swap the 2wd SM420 with a 4x4 SM420 and convert it. The downfall to that is I was quoted around 3k to rebuild the v-6, and thats about the same amount i dropped into my 468. But i do want to keep the motor. I just need to win the lottery cause retirement just isnt cuttin it money wise :(

Judd's was fairly stock but I believe it had some basic hop ups like an intake manifold, 4-barrel carb, and other stuff. He's an executive aircraft pilot though so his idea of cheap is three times yours and mine...well...probably eight times mine...

:haha:Yeah prolly so. I wish someone would have told me when i started to lift my burban that it would end into a money pit and the fact that chevy's around here are cheap and i can never say no...Most expensive truck i bought was my 82 longbed for 1500 and all except my yellow 3/4 ton were under 800 bucks. Someone tell me NO next time.:haha:

If we lived somewhere that the trucks didn't rot away and the good stuff was gold then I'd probably have three sitting in my yard right now...and be divorced.

I know where there's a diesel '88 K5 sitting for sale. Guy wants too much...but I think after several months he might be willing to deal...but I don't have the time or space as it's a bit to crusty for my tastes.

I can deal with 3 if its only 3 :haha:. Currently i have 7 trucks at my house plus a corolla.

Well, I meant three sitting in the yard. Right now I have Big Ugly and the wife's Suzuki in the garage and my Tracker in the driveway. At one time I also had a parts Tracker in the garage as well. It was a constant nag fest when I had the four vehicles but three seems to be acceptable.

Yeah i know what you meant :D. Im hoping to buy some mountain property hopefully in the next year or so and move out to the boonies and chase my dream of having entirely too many chevy's

:haha: . Currently i have 7 trucks at my house plus a corolla.
Sweet, that's a pretty good start. What's the goal? 15? 20? I have 8 and a '68 Malibu.:D Oh, and that makes 8 Chevy vehicles total, cuz the Jeep is the only non-GM on the lot.:waytogo:

Ok well hell if we're competing then i have in this state 7 trucks 1 supertryke, 1 atv, and a go cart then i have my 82 chevy in New mexico. :haha:

You should get a set of the factory plaid valve covers for that 305. Either do an eBay search or check out www.stovebolt.com

They are factory, and are plaid print...

If i recall right it's not a 90 degree V-6 either. It's either 60 or 72 degrees (I'm thinking it's 72 degrees)

Good torque, no top end (red line is under 4000 rpm) and kinda hard on fuel from everything I've read...

Seems weird, but they were factory on some 305's.
