I swear...It kinda fell onto my lap.

The 305, 351, 401, 478, & 702 V6 & V12 motors are all 60 deg V6's. Great power for towing and pulling, but heavy and get 10 MPG no matter what you do.

Also look up the 6066 GMC email list on yahoo (linked from the above page too).

If you decide to upgrade that '62 305 to a 351 let me know. I'm parting out a '66 GMC project.

Thanks for clearing that up Kenny, I knew they weren't 90 degree...but wasn't sure on the 60 or 72 degree part.

Seems weird, but they were factory on some 305's.

:haha::haha::haha:

Ill have to look into those valve covers :haha:. Looking at that sweet sweet gorgous 60's burb on that website made me cry, that is one of my dream burbs'. I havent found too many places that carry parts for the 305 v-6.

The plaid valve covers were a one year only deal... I think it was '63. There is more info on them on the 6066gmcguy website.

I know the owner of that 'burb and I've seen it in person. It is a nice one for sure. The pickup sitting next to it was a 3/4 ton that had the frame shortened to fit a short bed. Everything else was left original (other than paint).

I was always able to get parts for the V6's from carquest or napa.

Poor rust belt guys... you all need to get together some summer and head out west to pick up a few dozen solid rigs...

Those valve covers are tight... so each set was painted like that or was it a sticker?

From the numbers i pulled from the block i have the 305D v-6. I need to get the title squared away on my 62 so i can start buying parts for it...after the burb is done..and susie(84 3/4T) ,and betty('66), then maybe amy (62):haha:

If i ever won the lottery and got over 5 mil. The first thing i would do is buy 400 acres of sweet colorado mountain land, and build a huge ass garage with enogh clearance for my trucks, then id buy a car hauler semi and id travel everywhere and if i see a truck i like i stop and buy..someone wake me from this dream...:crazy:

Sounds good to me...

An "ass garage"? Does that describe the shape or the smell?:haha:Sorry, struck me funny due to a running joke with the guys I used to work with.:crazy:

With all them sweet trucks and $5 mill he'd need a garage to fit all the ass he'd get? :D

:haha:If i had a huge ass garage and more than 5 mill, the garage would be smelling like 10-30W, ATF, Power steering fluid and beer. Then id start on snatching every crewcab up around me :D

I used to see this early 40's tow truck at a place I worked at. Guy would show up pretty regularly... Not exact on the year of the truck, but it still had the three piece hood which he had stretched a bit and left the sides off. He had the 702" V-12 in that thing. Pretty damn cool...and prolly tow a house if he wanted. ;)
