actually, starting with a 2wd truck like a couple of us have, the Chevy axle isnt any harder than the Ford axle. i actually started out with a Chevy D44 and a 700R4/241 out of a 91 Burb. when my lift specs were changed beyond my control, i started looking at Ford HP44s. i just happened to stumbe onto this HP60, and jumped on it.

i've been hunting for a ford front d60. i guess i need to start doing a little home work on year models and such to find out widths and everything else involved in such a swap, but going with the ford front it seem it should be pretty straight forward.
78-79 F250 with the snow plow package, or a 78-79 F350.

got a buddy looking into the stuff for his, but he's still on the fence about what he's gonna do. why? your other deal fall through? :ears:
 
The other deal went well, but we have other trucks wanting solid axles also :D
