PM Dremu, he has urban smurf camo........
Bah. Three of my trucks are camo'd in the appropriate military pattern.

Granted, there's one OD green (the CUCV), one desert tan (the tow rig), and then the odd one that Desert Rat takes umbrage to... the 'wheeler :D

Pretty sure the military patterns are in my gallery here; if not, PM me, or I guess Readymix has them too =))

im dont know but i think you will be happy with a solid color. if you want that look paint it olive green.

i painted my truck because i couldent take the camo anymore.. but it does hide imperfections reeaaaaallly well. there were a few HOLES that i didnt see before i really started working on it.:eek1:
i do kinda like the camo wheels though.

I can give you all the info that is required for exact camouflage per US army for free it tells you how and shows everything you need.

Go here http://brochures.slosh.com/cucv/ then go down a little to http://brochures.slosh.com/cucv/tb43-0209.pdf TB43-0209: Color, marking and camouflage painting of military vehicles, construction equipment and materials handling equipment.

:) If the old lady would let me I wanted to do mine.... :(

the pictures i showed are for a chev. the link i have right above that is for a dodge. sorry fo the mix up.

you can do camo any colour you like. that's the nice thing about owning your own truck. any crazy idea you get in your head, you can go out and do.:D

if it were me, i'd do the green part white, the brown part gray, and the black part black.

I believe the Green is gray, the brown is white and black is black in true urban camo. But as he said it is your truck..... So make it true tiger stripe orange black and white..... Now thats GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!

As a general thought as to what options are available... sure, you can do the three-colour in anything you want, as evidenced by that idiot that did the blue/blue/blue "Smurf" camo. :haha:

Anyway, here are some chops I did to give me ideas when I chose the Smurf scheme. There's a Jeepster Commando I see around my work with the black-stripes-on-white tiger, kinda cool, but I didn't want that much white on the truck. (In retrospect it doesn't matter as I get crap on it regardless :) )

As for the "how" ... my sixpack, the desert tan, I did with rattle cans outside in the summer heat, as the damn truck's too big to fit in my garage. Maybe $200, two dozen cans each primer and paint (six packs are bigger than K5's! ) Prep is key, washing the truck, sanding, Bondo, sanding, more sanding, etc.

The CUCV I did in the garage with a real paint gun on my compressor. I don't know that it's THAT much better.

The smurf K5 I did with rattle cans in the yard and I don't think I even washed it first. It came out fine for a 'wheeler ... won't take it to any shows, except the Meet-N-Greet at BlazerBash, but it definitely garners attention (and for some reason makes Desert Rat agitated :haha: )
