I have a 1990 GMC Jimmy with 33x12.50x15 Falken Wildpeak ATs and its almost time for new tires. I can't go bigger than the size I have now since I'm stock, but I just wanted to hear suggestions! I rarely take this one off road so I'm mainly looking for radial tires with a smooth ride.

Wild country xtx , at tire with 55k tread life. I just put a set of 285/75/16 on my k5 733 out the door and a 50 dollar mail in rebate.

I have falken wildpeak ats in the same size and use my truck in a similar manner. Will go back the same when I need them if they are available.

Goodyear Duratrax. Got 33s on my 93 burb. Not as loud as one might think after looking at the tread. Good road manners and great in the snow.

I just put 33x10.5x15 BFG AT/KO2's on my stock height K5 and love them, the price is right too.

Was going to suggest the same, but my feeling is that at 35-40PSI mine ride rough. Even worse off-road. They are massively better around 20PSI, but most of us probably don't run that pressure on the street. :)

I've been impressed with the tires, I just have nothing to compare them to in terms of ride quality.

My experience with the first gen BFG at K/O wasn't that great. I had them on an 81 blazer in an 31x10.5 variety, loved to hydroplane in the rain. I was younger, and didn't pay much attention to tire pressure. However, I'm jaded and wouldn't run them again.

I've ran multiple sets of BFGs and the only issue was price. I have them for snow tires my my tundra, 275/70/18s, and are great in the snow. Not overly wide, but don't want a wide snow tire anyways. I've hit water and never hydroplaned. So far wearing like iron. I have the Falken Wild Peaks for summer use 305/55/20s and they are silky smooth. Can't hear them at all. And as fat as they are not terrible in the snow.

What's up B! Can't argue with the fact that they wear like iron, that hydroplane issue however....many different factors. I'm only speaking from my experience. Take it at face value.

Sent PM back!! My Tundra is heavy, not sure that helps or hinders. But even with the fat Falkens, I've never hydroplaned. The BFGs do some when hitting slush, but never lost control....

BFG All Terrains, KO to be specific, I have a set of 32s on my k5 and absolutely love them, first off, they are the perfect "classic 4x4 tire" and look great on old k5's. Second, they have great road manners. Third, they are great in rocks and dirt trails when aired down to about 15 psi. Fourth, they are said to not be very good in mud but I disagree with that, they have gotten me through some sloppy shit. Fifth, they have a 50K mile warranty. I love 'em. Also i have had no hydroplaning issues whatsoever. They have been good to me in all conditions.

My vote is for either the Toyo Open Country AT2's or the BF Goodrich all terrain KO2's. I have both on different trucks. The BFG's are on my old GMC k25 and the Toyo's are on my dually. I can't comment on the life span on the new BFG's but, the Toyo's are quite impressive. Toyo offers a 50,000 mile warranty on some of the AT2's and a 65,000 mile warranty on others. My dually is a big heavy truck with tons of torque. I already have about 25,000 miles on them and I have never rotated, checked the balance, or aligned the truck after the initial install. I think the fronts will last another 15,000 miles and the rears will last another 25,000 or maybe even another 30,000 miles. And that is just about all towing with no real maintenance on them. The Goodyear Dura tracks are also a good choice but, I have no personal experience with them.

For a driver I usually favor good year wranglers, the one I got have the mountain/snowflake on them, and do really good in snow and ice,and are smooth and quiet

I have been considering the wild peaks, but was wondering why you were looking elsewhere.
