My co-workers thought I was crazy, the parking attendants laughed at me too, and some of my friends felt the same way. They all laughed at me for locking up my 56" leaf springs in the back of my truck. I don't know when it happened, some time before Wednesday but realizing today, that some Ahole stole my really nice set of 56" springs.

If I had proof, I would shoot them in the FACE! I'm so pissed right now. I would do it in front of their kids so maybe they would learn a valuable lesson. I haven't gone anywhere where someone would KNOW what these leafs go to, so my only assumption is they stole the leafs for scrap value alone.

I just started picking up speed, working on my truck everyday (vacation) and picking up parts I couldn't normally get because I was working. Now this happens. I already paid someone to press the bushings out of the leafs too.
 
yep probably tweakers lookin for scrap money. my friend's tweaker cousin stole and sold his Swag Offroad press brake for scrap. got his ass beat, then explained that he would have made 3 times as much had he sold it for what it was, while he was still on the ground bleeding.

that really sucks man. me and my brother had a rear axle sitting next to his drive way in a really nice neighborhood and went to get a peice off of it the other day and it was gone... bastards will steal anything

Theives suck. I used to ride to work with a co-worker and helped him feed his cattle after work daily. He had his father-in-laws old ford and an old chevy he bought to feed hay with that he left out in the field. We went there every day for months until he sold his cattle. Didnt go back for a week and then one day went to get the trucks. I noticed intstantly the radiator mount from the chevy laying on the ground and knew what had happened. Radiator and both batteries gone. Went over to the ford and I popped the hood, same deal. Theives got two good radiators and 3 good batteries. Both trucks had keys and there arent any houses real close. If they had time to steal the radiators and batteries they had time to drive off in the trucks, guess they just wanted scrap.
 
That sucks big time! I have had stupid crap go missing but a set of leaf springs is pretty heavy to be swipping.
 
Metal theft is rampant around here--theives are stealing anything they can get their grimy paws on--copper from forclesed homes (estimates say 90% of them have had the copper piping stolen,wiring too,and they'll kick holes in walls and leave the water running too,rendering the house worthless in many cases)..................................................................................................they stole copper roof flashing,gutters and wiring from old buildings and churches over 100 years old in many towns,even veterans grave markers in local graveyards are dissapearing,and some bronze plaques and statues have dissapeared also...not to mention hundreds of catalitic converters off brand new cars at dealerships--the Toyota one right in my sight had 38 of them vanish in one night last summer!..............................................................its so bad that you cant put anything on the curb for free like an old TV set,etc,the bastards will chop the cord off them,and leave the now JUNK TV there for YOU to dispose of!....I think theives should have their fingers chopped off with a dull axe,myself...

File a report.
That way, when you catch someone stealing something.... You can shoot them.

I was robbed at Knife point, by some Black teenager's.
I filed a police report.

I told the cop, If this ever happens again, I'm pulling my knife and stickin' 'em.

It's stupid what some people are willing to risk.

They put me on the ground w/ out checking my pockets.
I coulda grabbed my knife, and cut the tendon, directly above the robbers ankle....
He would NEVER have walked again.... ;)

But, I didn't.... If it ever happens again, it's wheelchair time, Boss.... :thumb:

And... That's how I feel over $20 , and self respect.
I can't imagine what I'd do to someone over Springs.... :whistle:
 
Sorry to hear brother. There're steel roaches all over the place. they drive up and down my street looking for steel all the time. And my friends wonder why I lock up everything, even what they think of as junk steel.
 
I actually give one of those guy's ALL my scrap steel.....
We have a good relationship goin' on...

I tell him how frighteningly insane, I really am.....
He tell's the neighborhood thieves.

I had someone steal a 14FF I cut out of C30 off my farm. I am pretty pissed but they must have been strong. I was moving it with a loader. Last year I lost some 4020 wheel weights. I am thinking about mounting a game camera on my shed.
 
Yes but people don't steal when I am there. A unmanned turret is no go but a picture will allow me to track them down and kill them while they sleep.

try getting 3500 worth of new tires and wheels taken and your truck set on the ground like its a pile of crap. :doah:i am still bummed about this from few years ago.
