if it aint broke dont fix it!! but....axle shaft u joint Q

Stop pleassse....jaja

It has a lil very minimal dent but you can hardly see it

It doesn't take much to throw a driveshaft out of balance. If you have it off, you might could take it to a driveshaft shop and see if they can balance it. I've never had to do that. A small dent shouldn't matter that much, I wouldn't think.

I'm having the same problem.

Hubs locked, 2wd and 4wd have a nasty vibration coming from the front end at speeds about 15-20mph. 4wd works fine, but its a vibration like something is fixing to destroy its self.

"If it were me", and I didn't know the age or life's wear on the u-joints, I would tear them out and replace them all, whether they are bad or not. Only then could i be assured of their integrity. Did it to my '91 K5 as I had the hubs off replacing bearings and cleaning the muck out of the automatic hubs. I didn't want to mess with putting the retainer on the hub with that big a$$ spring behind it ever again  (couldn't afford the Warn replacements)

Maybe something's wrong with the splines on the slip shaft or something. They can get worn out sometimes.:dunno:
