Easier to recover the 4-5 golf balls i'd say.
. Yes golf balls would be easier to recover but I feel the dispersion of the pellets will balance better than the golf balls. Really this whole thing comes down to personal preference. I put the data here incase anyone else was curious as to how many pellets they needed to purchase. It has def. taken an interesting turn
Same thing happened to the last thread i followed on tyre balancing with golf balls but it went the other way round as the pellets etc came into play.sandawgk5 said:It has def. taken an interesting turn![]()

GEORGIA GABE said:I was the one who used the airsoft pellets. I play airsoft alot, look at my avitar. I used the .25g bbs. It is what we play with ( better accuracy) I hated it. I did use enough, actually I weighed out the exact ammount reccomended by the online calculator and added 10percent. If it works for some of you...great. I just wouldnt do it again.

sled_dog said:eh, we mounted 4 38" SSRs today. Each called for 14-16 oz(well 3 did, one was like 6). We didn't have nearly taht much in the way of stick on weights. Heck we didn't have enough to do one tire let alone all 4. Equal or some other in tire would have been best, but everyone(except the teacher who knew the stuff works) thought I was joking or crazy, and we didn't have the time. I need to get some tires for the S10 soon, mount them on the Hummer rims, throw some golf balls in and actually balance them like that, show people it works.

?I have called all the big 4x4 shops in the portland area as well as the semi truck shops. No problem for them to handle my 39" tall tires, its the 18" wide no-one can balance. So i have no choice except for this concept. I'd never heard of it until the last few weeks but it sure seems like it's not a new idea and it has been well experimented with. The local shop here says they will balance all 4 of mine for $65, so for me that a steal considering my other options of nothing.big_truxx said:why is everyone talking about equal and bb's these days? it costs next to nothing to have each tire balanced at a shop anyway lol
