Thanks. I appreciate all the compliments. It's nothing really that nice and I don't buy bling parts but the part I enjoy most is building something out of junk I have laying around. In the end I take it out and smash it into trees and rocks anyway so ultimately reliability is all that matters.
I have a good friend who is a "collector" similar to me except instead of old chevys and scouts he likes everything. He also has a similar "rat rod" building style as I do where he makes everything from junk he's collected. So when he's out buying junk and sees something I can use he'll pick it up and I do the same for him. He found that at a yard sale when I was building my shop and thought it would fit as decoration. What it actually came from I don't know but I assumed it was medium duty truck.
The plan was to hang it on the wall with lights in place of the headlights that work on a light switch. I plan on building a house before long though that will most likely have some sort of man cave and I imagine that's where it will end up.
That's a good idea to use it as a light. it is for sure a medium duty truck unit. At one time we had 5 of those trucks on the place. Now the only one left is the hulk of the one I rolled a few years back.
The epitome of the phrase "Built not bought" Not seen much theses days...I know I'm guilty of it too...So it is nice to see.
Update time! Traded for running 400, don't know how many miles but runs good and doesn't use oil. (Got from a friend, have seen it run several times so I know it to be true)
Got firewall and interior painted
Drilled and tapped power steering gear box for hydro assist. Then a miracle happened. Needed joints for a steering shaft and I found this one that came from a dodge (i think, can't really remember) thought what are the odds of it fitting the gear box. Not only did one end fit the box, the other end fit the column. Finally a bolt in part.
Finished up my radiator support and made mounts for steering and tranny cooler
Mounted my ruff stuff battery box. I've had a battery held in with bungee cord fall out and I ran over it. Don't want to experience that again.
Then my radiator came in and I figured out I should have waited to do the support till it came in so I had to cut out the center and start over. Started by bending up some 1/8" steel
And I got caught up and forgot to get many progress pics but here it is
I also got my front shocks in and a good bit of my tranny tunnel built and installed power steering filter and an external tranny filter. Still need to do rear shock mounts, mount steering ram and lines, tranny cooler lines, put in seats, winch, rear driveshaft and windshield. I'm also waiting on new propane vapor hose, windshield seal and throttle linkage.
Planning to have it running by this weekend and hit the trail the next weekend. On a negative note, I lowered the body and raised the engine without much concern for how it would turn out. Air cleaner is 3" above the hood. I'm not cutting it back apart. Cutting a hole in the hood.

Looks like you kept the same propane setup from the other engine?

Sometimes little victories make all the difference. Got my hydro assist finished up, ram mounted etc.

Here's a shot of my power steering filter. Added one on the other side for external tranny filter as well. Figure it will help motivate me to keep them changed if they're easy. Especially since my tranny pan doesn't leak, I really don't want to have to pull it. Ever.
And then I drove it out of the shop. Spent a couple hours swapping 3 starters, 2 battery's and 2 battery cables only to find it was a cable end the whole time. Guess I've got 2 battery cables with bad ends. Got steering bled, tranny refilled, it starts, it moves, it steers and has something that remotely resembles brakes.
Got some wiring left, rear shock mounts, bolt in seats, put fenders back on, cut hood and bolt on, bleed brakes and put in windshield. Trail ride is scheduled for next weekend. Figured if I have a deadline I'll be more inclined to get it finished.

Busy weekend but here's my accomplishments: fan is in and wired up, winch is wired up, headlights wired, front fenders on for the last time, seats are in, shifting linkage done and brakes work a little better.

Almost forgot, never been one to name my vehicles but this one will be known as puddles. Steering sector leaks, so does the rear main and oil pan, one of the rear brake calipers and the front output on the transfercase. So it makes puddles.
Brake caliper will get replaced later this week and I may send steering sector to psc later in the year and have them build it if I don't do it myself. And I'm real irritated that I didn't put new gaskets in the motor while it was out. At least it will be fairly easy to pull now that all the fab work is done.

Good to see you're almost back in action. You keep putting body panels on, fancy rims and maybe fix that headlight and someone might call this thing pretty someday. 
Finished up wiring after work but got cut short. Wife said bad thunderstorms coming with large hail and possible tornadoes. Had to do the squeeze and pack some cars in the shop
That's my wife's 66 scout, and soul, my Hyundai dd, 06 2500hd and puddles. If it weren't for the lawnmower and my brother in laws motor/tranny in the floor I think I could squeeze things around and get one more in which would be nice cause my poor square truck is sitting outside.
It already needs body work and has a busted windshield and it's not by any trees so it should be ok.

Had to cut a hole in the hood for the breather to fit. It's way bigger than it needed to be but I just cut all the rust out of it and this is what was left.
Next few shots are from the first wheelin trip. I'm bad at taking pics on trail rides. I do have a couple videos but I haven't figured out how to upload them.
Here's a blazer getting pulled out by a toyota. You can see the parts of the log peeled off where the front diff hung up and he skid down it till he hit the root ball with a little force.

Made a cover for my hood. Overheats now on long uphill pulls. Guess there's nowhere for the air to go.
Started a set of twin stick shifters for my 205 I'm gonna swap in. Was going to do a doubler and haven't completely decided not to but I don't really have the room and don't really want the weight and so far I haven't felt the need for the lower gear.
Here's my np205 I bored for 32 spline and rebuilt. Cleanest transfercase I've ever owned
And then I cut the sidewall out of another tire. 3rd one so far with like new tread I've cut up so I decided to upgrade tires. 37" sx2s came in the mail yesterday.

And then on another note my dad gave me his old truck. It's the one I learned to drive in as well as the truck that got me interested in the old square trucks. It's beat, its rusty, and its ugly but I love it.
Cab needs floor, rockers, cab supports and can corners, so basically the whole bottom needs to be replaced. Got a good 4 bolt 350/th350/np205. It's a factory 3/4 ton cut down to swb. Don't know what I'll do with it yet. Got the 35s off my scout will probably go on it to get rid of those square swampers and I've got another set of 1-tons it may also get and a little body repair.
I also need to find a tire machine

This thing is bad ass, I love the cut hood and raised bump.. might be time for louvers on it.. kinda like the zL1 hood..

. The tires aren't blems, they are new from 4wp. I live on top of a mountain so I do have a pretty sweet view off the porch. I've been told by several people that I've got the best view in the county.
Pic shows up now, go figure. I was just wondering if you scored the set of blems I was watching awhile back lol. What county you live in? I've been looking at property around marion county.
