to pull my willys with. it will be 2" square tube, with quick disconnects at the bumper. I got into a big argument with a friend about the need for side to side flex as well as up and down flex. I don't see it, but I don't have any experience with tow bars. in my estimation, all it needs to to is move up and down, side to side would just be scary.

Heres a rough draw:

Heres the rig:

It has to move up and down, well not really but its not a trailer so it should. I built one well two just like that and they worked fine towed two Blazer's with them one to Idaho from AZ the other hear from AZ.

mine is just tabbed to the front and uses 1 3/4 delron bushings and 9/16 bolts. I tope the sub with it so i upgraded to a 2 5/16 ball over the standard 2'. My tow bar now connects to the shackle hole on the a bomb.

A friend has one... 89.99, it is a flimsy looking piece for sure. it has hinges and pivots safety chains... :doah:

I wouldnt trust it- In my opinion, universal fit equipment fits everything poorly. Built for one application fits that one app well.

Yea I agree. I wouldn't suggest buying it. LOL maybe just a template kinda deal

I have a Drawtite one, and works great. It moves up and down, and angles so if the bumper isn't flush, can still bolt it on. Also pivots at the hitch, makes it easier to hook to the towing truck. I towed a 4wd dually, 2 1/2 hours, never had a problem. Going to be towing a crew cab dually tomorrow with it too. Make sure you have some safety chains for the both vehicles in case something does happen. I can get some pics if yah want, it's out in the truck.

Oh and can't have the wheel locked, then it won't turn...

Pivots at teh hitch? Wouldn't that force the bar to buckle under breaking, and essentially lift of swish down the tow vehicle? Can you explain?

funnern' hell, except I get to drop the fuel cell today. i dont know how it got in there, but theres a ton of dirt that keeps getting past both filters and plugging my carb up. Good times.
