Youve gotta be F'in kidding me. In our small group out at Badlands last time, you had the least capable rig in the group. I hope you can keep the engine running for more than 1 minute at a time and learn how to drive on rocks if you plan to do even decent.

You gotta be kidding me dick. WTF is your problem? 99% of the time, I DO NOT get along with Tim, But geez man, those are some first class people skills you indicated with that post. Way to piss in dudes cheerios. That has got to be the most blantantly retarded and ignorant thing I have ever seen someone say on this website. Unbelieveable. That $hit belongs back on the playground in 1st grade. Next time you think about saying something, don't. Keep your mouth shut.

BTW Tim, Good [darn] bro. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif Glad to see someone from here goin. Represent dude! On your way to this thing, go spin a donut on BlueBlazer62's lawn.

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

Good luck Tim, Too bad you were not closer I would let you borrow my 44's. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I couldn't use them anyway, but it would be a nice offer.

Ok guys, for those of you that aren't familiar with this comp, I'll kinda give you the low down.

This is the 2nd year for this so maybe some of y'all missed it last year.

In recent years, TTC, although it always had a, "Street Legal" requirement, the rigs of TTC have been pushing that limit more and more. Eager to see more REAL, road-legal trucks, Four Wheeler magazine started this competition last year.

The rules are pretty simple. The rig must be on a stock frame or stock type replacement frame. Tube frames are specifically prohibited. Winches are strongly recommended, but not required for this competition, unlike TTC where you're required by the rules to have a winch whether you use it or not. It also must be road legal. That means it must have windshield, LICENSE PLATES, insurance, lights, etc. The editor has simply told me that they want, "Real" trucks. One that the readers could look in the magazine and picture there own truck with a few mods doing this compeition.

It will consist of a sandy hill climb, a mud pit, an obstacle course, a rock run, and the buzzard's roost trail as well as an engineering comp and an overall street legality score.

As to blueblazer's comments, I don't know about the, "Least cabable" rig the last time we went to badlands when there were guys in rigs with 10 bolts and 305s with no lockers that took the bypasses every chance that came up. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif My rig was acting up that day with some carb problems, but I took off the Edelbrock and put on a Q-jet and I have had NO issues since then, I almost rolled my truck last weekend and it never hickuped once so I think I finally got that problem solved. Generally speaking a post like that doesn't even deserve a response, but I will simply say that no trail rig works 100% all the time. All of us work jobs or go to school or both, and I know me personally, much of the time I go on trail runs, I just have to run it as it is (however it is friday night when I pull it on the trailer to go to the run). I'm sure others can relate, trying to work 5-6 days and 60 hours a week and get to go trail riding on the weekend sure doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Last year they did 10 trucks. This year it's 20. I was the only alternate and someone backed out, so I am in.

I am going to run my TSLs. I really wish I'd ordered my new 39.5s already so I could have a fresh set to run, but I kinda screwed up thinking that there was NO way someone would back out and I'd just be an alternate and spectator basically, so I put it off and bought a welder instead.

Anyway.....

This event is being held at badlands so spectators will be admitted, but they're limiting the number of people allowed, so if y'all want to come and watch, definitely do so, I need all the potential fans I can have while I'm there. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

All I can say is that I'm nervous as hell about the whole thing. I've been wrenching every night after work until the week hours of the morning, including replacing my transfer case so far just for this.

Honestly I don't even know what to say. It's such an honor just to get to go. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

good luck!

I echo Tyler's advice though...make sure that truck is running better (what happened to the tbi that you bought from dan?) and practice practice practice on the rocks. I'm sure you'll do well in the mud and on the trails. Get it man!

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I don't wanna piss on your cheerio's like Tyler did..
but he has a point..
(You really don't want to go there to embarass yourself. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

So...how's it running now???

I'd say...you need bigger tires for sure..

Who's your spotter???
A GOOD spotter for the rocks...is a must.

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

With the new carb I have damn near had it on its side and it still runs great.

Now that I'm not fighting to keep it running, I have a LOT of control over my rig (in fact, so much, that I'm starting to love the 4 speed more than ever).

I have three spotters, all of which are great guys. I can't wait!!!!!

Don't worry about my rig guys, IT WILL BE READY!

Oh, and on the bigger tires thing, there is only one size of TSLs made that are bigger than mine and still within the tire size restriction. I don't know why I'd need or even want bigger tires. A set of Boggers for the rear would help in the mud pit, but you're prohibited from changing tires during the comp so I'd have to run them the whole time.

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

I sent an apology to Tim about my post and deleted what I said. I still feel that what I said is true for the most part, but I should have kept my mouth shut, and for that I apologize.

When is the comp? Will you be able to share details after it's over or will there be a gag order like TTC?

Make sure your spotters have cameras, whoever isn't on duty at the moment needs to be taking pics so you can post them here! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, Tim.

Is there a website somewhere that says when it is, who is competing, and whatnot?

I know it's going on the 14th and 15th of August... but what about the other info?

Or is Ford Wheeler doing its normal "we're f'n stupid and are as organized as a quadriplegic in a pawn shop" behavior?

One of our club (MTU Four Wheelers) members, Jay Wyglendowski, is supposed to compete.

Re: I\'m in, I\'m IN!!!!!!!!!

Congrat's Tim /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You'll do well, just shift really fast on the sand drags.

"I don't have to run faster than the lions, just faster than you"
This means, make it last, you know there will be big right foots out there breaking stuff so make your truck last through the whole competition! Good Luck
