Hey all. I just got my first Blazer and i'm excited. 81 K5!!! Got it off of ebay at what I believe to be a steal at $800. The guy didn't say much about it on the auction, so I called him. It had so much more than the auction discription said. 350 from a vette with a turbo 350 tranny. Took a newer chevy pickup at a roll and actually spun the 33 12.50s I got a few days ago. Put new ac delco plugs, msd ignition coil, wires etc... Rancho shocks and breaks. It's a beast and I love it. Need a new radiator though. The one it has works fine for normal driving, but with a three speed tranny, it overheats at 80mph+ highway speeds. I hope the new 4 core radiator fixes that. I'll put on an electric fan while I'm at it. Not an $800 truck anymore and i've only had it for a week. But it runs strong and mean!!!

This pic is from when I bought it. Nothing done yet.

You can't tell from the pic, but the tires were dry rotted. Bounced alot and breaks pads were bad, but it's more than road worthy now. Wait till my wife finds out LOL!!! She's been gone a few weeks and I sold my night vision on ebay for 2 grand and bought this and a few add ons. She's gunna be pissed that the minivan doesn't have AC yet!!

Dang man, you stole that truck! Awesome find, congrats!!!!

Speaking of night vision goggles, you ever off road with them on? Dang is it hard. I'm in the Army and we had to as part of getting our military drivers license. It was suppose to just be a 'on road' course but the tank trails were just too tempting. I was with my platoon sgt and my platoon leader, it was great! Scary though, the GENIII stuff works great but still no depth perseption.

Anyways man, that's a heck of a truck. I cant wait to get home so I can finaly get me another K5 to play with.

Nice K5! I wish i could find a rust free truck for $800, even if I did it prolly wouldnt have a motor. Congrats!

That's what I sold to buy this. PVS 7B gen III. It's amazing what companies will send extra of when you work in supply in the military. But you can never say my bay wasn't right on the money when it came to invintory!!

Yep.. Turns out it doesn't have a "i think its a 400" tranny, it's a turbo 350. And after asking a question about it here on the forums, I found that the 14 bolt set up is a good thing too. I had to put shocks, tires, and breaks on it though. So it's not an $800 truck anymore.. More like $1600, but it's more than road worthy now.

That's what I'm doing here in the first place. This place is great. And thanks for the BIG WELCOME

The guy figured it would be easier to sell primer than the tan/orange/green that it was from it's cop truck days. I agree
