Just got back from pickin up the blazer. Flew up to Reno this am without any tools. Got in @ 1000. The previous owner picked me up at the airport and took me over to the dealer, which was only 5 mins away. Paid for the fluid changes, signed paperwork and drove off.
Stopped and got a toolkit from Kragen, oil, stop leak, towels, lug wrench (stock didn't fit the lugs, good I checked), etc. Stopped in Bishop to top off the tank. Only stopped once after that for the facilities. This thing is in great condition. Interior and exterior. Everything worked, including the air conditioning, windows, locks are a little stubborn with the key.
That drive has some serious elevation to traverse. AC on temps stayed around 170, then up to 200 on the big climbs getting closer to the desert. No issues at all. It didn't burn any oil and doesn't smoke. No complaints. Not a leak of coolant anywhere, not sure what the dealer was talking about, but I'll look into it tomorrow.
Looks like it was getting in the neighborhood of 12-15mpg, which I think is pretty good considering the heat and hills. Anyway, thanks all for the advice, and the numbers to contact incase anything happened. If anyone is traversing socal and needs anything, let me know. Guess I'll go return that tool kit now. Probably keep all the fluids though. Steve
