Introductions & Greetings

Hello all. I haven't been on since I sold my rusted out '75 for parts 10 years ago. I just picked up an '89 with an NV4500.

I kept my doubler, Ford Dana 60 and the 14 bolt from my old rig. I can't wait to get it in the new one.

I'll be on here a lot while I re-learn what fits and how to fix it.

Was it by chance the gray one with the custom soft top?

Post a build thread in the driveway section.

We all want you to.

Hey guys, nice web site/forum you have going on here, lots of good info. Still trying to figure out how to use the site.
Have a 1991 Jimmy, was a rust bucket but been picking at it for 10 years now. Body is nice with sun visor, cowl hood, 2 inch lift, 350, 33's, side tubes, 12 bolt rear end, 3:73 gears and a few more goodies. Just finished the conversion from propane back to gas, lots of fun there. Just a weekend truck so nothing too excessive. Live in Calgary so don't hold that against me. Post some pics when I figure it out.

Bunch of "northern" members here...

We're not holding anything against you. Welcome!

Hey newb here. My name is Josh Miller. As you can see from my screen name cause I typed in my real name instead of a screen name on accident haha starting off strong. I'm from Melbourne Florida. I just purchased an 89 K5. The body is pretty rough but the price was right so I couldn't pass it up. I'll start a build thread on it when I get to working on it. First thing will be rebuilding the floor and rockers. It came out of New York origionally and it's pretty rotted. I was told that it served as a beach patrol rig up there somewhere before it made its way to Florida. it has onboard air with an air horn and some pretty cool skid plates on the dif's and Tcase. Here is a pic of it as it sits and how I got it. Check out the extended drive shaft

ouch, thats going to be intensive. My floor pans had holes all over, it was alot of work. Definitely worth it though.

Hi guys all the way from sweden!

This is my project car, a Blazer -84 with 350/700 under the hood.
4" suspension lift & 35" tires. Runs and drives.

Take care!

Ya I like how everyone on here seems to be so personable now if I could just Figueroa out the pictures so I can get some posted up

My name is Josh from Southern California.

I made my first official post last week in the 67-72 section and totally missed this pages so let me double back.

I have been a HUGE fan of the 72 K5's since college and I am pumped to finally have one to call my own. When this journey started, I figured I would make a few minor upgrades to take it the next level. Well... as the story goes, the deeper I dug, the more I found that I wouldn't be okay leaving alone.

I've decided to take it all the way down to the frame and do a full resto but with everything modern below the chassis. I just purchased a 2014 LS3 with a 6 speed tranny, doing Vintage Air system, Painless Wiring kit and since I am upgrading the power-plant, I need to upgrade the braking system.

Has anyone that has done a LS swap upgraded their braking system? If so what did you do? It seems there are not any disc conversion kits if you wanna keep the 12 bolt, 6 lug rear end? I would love to hear from those that have done this. Not sure if I am better off finding a more current year rear end but then I get into having different gearing for the 4 wheel drive.

Thanks for the help and hope to contribute as much as I may need direction.
