Introductions & Greetings

Marine here in 29 Palms, I just picked up a 1985 K20 6.2 diesel Suburban, bad tranny but I have a M1009 TH400 and NP208 to swap into it. I am looking forward to searching the tech articles.

Hello everyone, I dont own a K5 blazer yet but I am thinking about buying one for my next vehicle. Possibly the diesel version. Might actually get the truck version instead, so we will see.

Hello from Jersey! Been lurking for a long time, finally registered today!
I've owned a 1996 Chevy Tahoe 2dr for 15 years, still have it. Drive it daily. But in the last year I have been considering getting a K5, specifically a 72, but anything in the 69'-79' range will do. I'm a simple guy, and the simplicity of these vehicles really calls to me. So I'm on the hunt for a decent survivor...wish me luck!

Not sure if that works.

Not much sheet metal left on that one!!
I hope that you have had lots of fun finding reasons to remove it!!
:waytogo:
This is a recent buy. I had unfortunately been convinced to built a foreign rig that starts with the letter "T". I actually love how much of it's left. I have the hood and you can tell what it is coming down the road. That dash will be for sale some day. Sorry if I am posting the pictures wrong.

Cool looking rig. You're in Gilbert and going to be selling the dash soon? I may be interested

I've been lurking for a year or two, but recently upgraded my membership. I know absolutely nothing about working on vehicles, but I am trying educate myself.
I have a 1978 GMC Jimmy High Sierra that I bought several years ago. It had sat for a few years, but some friends help me get it tuned up and running. I'm have a few current projects with it. I need to replace the front seats, and I need to drop the transmission and have it rebuilt. It started slipping last year and got parked. Time to get it going again.
My goal is to end up with something similar to @K30Blazer. A friend of mine turned me on to his YouTube channel a few months ago, and now I'm hooked.

Like I said, I know very little about working on cars, but I have friends, family, and a solid base in working on mechanical things (I have worked as a gunsmith off and on for ten years).

Thanks in advance for putting up with the rambling and stupid questions of a complete novice!

I pulled the running boards off. There is some rust repair to be done, but I'm not going for a beauty queen.

Just dropping by to say howdy! Bought a 86 K10 last fall and have been slowly working out the mechanical issues as time and money allows. Now it's time for the fun build stuff! Love the truck and so does my son, we run it all over the forest service roads here in north GA. I've been lurking for a while reading up as I tackle different projects on it. Looking forward to starting a build thread soon.

This is it the day I drove it home.

tim here, I'm in the middle of a cummins swap in my 88 suburban. also trying to line up some parts for a hydroboost swap too. been poking around here for a while and there is definitely some good tech here. it seems it is more difficult to find the parts i need than i originally thought it would.
right now the suburban has a dana 80 in the rear, 78 ford hp dana 60 up front. i have a 12 valve cummins and nv4500 waiting to go in as soon as i get back out to the shop. the t case is a np 241.
overall the suburban is in great shape, i think it is a california rig.

thats it...
